I have chicken pox right now. Can you tell me the do and don't. I cant find any dont in internet. I just read dont scratch. I had started a fever 3 days ago then it was after I drink medicine. The next day, I had fever again at night. Then when I woke up in the morning I have some like pimple in my head then some in my tummy. Its two days now I have blisters. I dont know if I should take a bath or not. My mom told me not to take a bath but I really feel smelly that I want to bathe. My mom said not to take a bath so that the virus will get out in form of blisters or else my fever will go back. I only have few spots like below 30. I took warm bath this afternoon with some leaves boiled in it. And not its midnight now. I checked my temp and its 38. this afternoon I was not sick anymore. But now its going back.

Now that your blisters are starting to go away, you are not as infectious any more as you were. So it should be fine to take a bath - I don't think that it was the bath that caused your fever to come back. Because this is a viral illness, there is not much medicine that really helps, you can take things to deal with your fever but generally the only thing to do is to rest, drink lots of water and wait it out! I hope that you feel better soon!

Actually I first took a bath the 2nd day after I have the spots appear. They are still fresh. I fever but I didn't feel like I have it because i can still do things as normal. I just felt a little cold that day. But now I'm not getting a fever again. i read in some site that it started with a cold and runny nose but I think i didnt have cold when I started having chicken pox. I feel really weird about my chicken pox.

Well, what I can do is express my feeling of solidarity. I'm sending this link in which there is info about what you are suffering. It says you should not scratch, cut your nails and wear gloves if possible. I think the best thing to do is consult a doctor. I hope you regain your health again. http://www.childrensmn.org/manuals/pfs/condill/018638.pdf

Thanks for the link. I am actually feeling better now. But I'm still worried because I only have around fifty spots. My friend said I should eat egg so that the chicken pox came out. It is like the more spot the better. is it true. i only have more or less 50 spots. I am not sure if it all came out already. My friend said if it didn't came out all I could have it again in the future.

You probably can't find information because chicken pox is vaccinated against now in the US and people don't get it often. When I was a kid, though, every kid got it. You stayed warm, rested, and tried not to scratch no matter how much it itched. Once the blisters come out, that's the virus making its way to the surface. I think it's okay to take a warm bath then, but don't get chilled because the virus will go back into your body and make you sick all over again. At least that's what I think I remember... it's been awhile ago!

I see. I guess in our country its an old saying that if you take a bath if you have chicken pox you fever will go bath. I think its depend now on how you'll handle your bath.

Well I've had chicken pox before and I never went without a bath. I don't know what your mom is talking about. I have never heard of that before and I didn't have any problems with it. Basically, you just have to wait it out.

Hi! My book here says that plenty of rest is helpful. I also had chicken pox when I was young. It was very itchy. Just dab calamine lotion on affected areas twice a day with sterile gauze. Over the counter antihistamine creams may also help. Keep skin clean. Sponge bath a few times a day will also help keep scabs and blisters clean and free from infection. Yes, don't scratchy or you cause the blisters to become infected leading to permanent scarring. Gargle with salt water if blisters are formed in the mouth. Also avoid infecting others by staying at home at least until the scabs have dried completely.

Its a lot of help. I feel better now. I don't have much blisters. I think only around 50 and they are not really that itchy. I itches when it's new.

I had a severe case of chicken pox when I was young.I was covered with blisters all over my body.It was itchy at first then it became painful especially when lying down because the blisters at my back comes in contact with the bed.The doctor just gave me some paracetamol for my fever which was on and off.So maybe you can take some of those to alleviate your fever. As for the itchiness, scratching is a big NO NO.It will leave you with scars and could make your blisters infected.Just put some cream on it.You can ask your doctor for safe anti-itch cream that you could use.During the peak of my chicken pox,I just did sponge bath. Then when I got better,I also took a warm bath with boiled herbal leaves.Chicken pox is not really dangerous. In fact my doctor said its better to let it out than to get vaccinated for it.Get well soon!

I only have few like 50 spots. My doesn't itch much. If it itches its tolerable. I don't really have to scratch them. But in some part I just scratch the surrounding.

If you have chicken pox, don't scratch your skin. As far as I know, there's an ointment that lessens the itchiness of the skin. Go to your dermatologist to find out more about this.

Well you can take some antipyretic to reduce your fever like Paracetamol.Don't ever scratch the blisters because it will cause scarring.Chickenpox is a viral disease and it could go without treatment maybe for 1 week.Just take some rest and avoid getting out so you will not spread the disease.Just take medicines for fever, and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables to strengthen your immune system and avoid complications.

The best way you can do with the blister due to the chicken pox is that don't ever try to pinch it or scratch it even if it is so itchy because it will just worsen the problem and will not cure it.Scratching and pinching the blisters would leave the marks on the face and skin so as much as possible just ignore them and slowly it will be cured.
