makes a lot of very valid logical points.
how did you feel about the jury`s decision? do you think this proposed new law is a good idea? bad idea? or are you completely indifferent? and why..?

I can't really say what I think about the jury's decision, because I do not know enough about the case to judge. On the surface, it would appear that Casey was guilty, but obviously that was not how the jury felt, and they had all the evidence to consider.
I do not think that the proposed new law is a good idea. I think that there are a large number of laws already on the books that will cover many (if not all) cases of abuse and neglect. I think that if more time and energy was spent enforcing the laws that already exist, then many more tragedies like this one could be avoided. I think that police and Social Services are overworked and understaffed in many areas, so maybe all the effort that goes into passing one of these laws would be better spent finding a way to help the current system function better and more efficiently.
