I'm not asking where one can write online - that's already covered by thousands of other discussions. My question is, what is your favorite website to write for and why? Does it have better pay? Is the website easier to get published on? Or some other reason altogether?

I'd like to write more lengthy discussions if I knew I would be paid well for them. I do like this website but I am now inclined to keep my messsages short as I know you don't get any more credit for longer posts. I am interested to know about different writing sites and the pay for them so will keep a look out.

Caterinasmile8, what makes you think you don't get paid for longer posts here? Posts are paid on quality, so longer posts which are relevant will earn well. There is no set amount per post here.

I think I tend to get paid around 2 cents per post. I ry to make sure they are at least 25 words in lengh as I hae seen this in the mimum requirement for other sites.I did manage to earn 5 cents the other day for completing a task, but most of these don't seem be somthing I could do. I had to join twitter for example and upload a photo. I have not been able to this aa my photos are too big and I don't seem to have any means to reduce the size. Thank you for pointing out text broker to me. Unfortunatly like a lot of things that seem really good it is only avaliable to the Unied States. I am in the United Kingdom. I don't suppose you know any other similar sites that I might be able to use? Thank you.

Hello, Awinds. My favourite site is Helium - I've tried others, but it's the only one I bother with now. The earnings are okay, although not great, but I love the choice of subjects to write about. Helium is a very friendly, supportive community of writers, and there is always plenty of feedback and help for anyone who wants it. And there are regular writing contests, where you can win good prizes. It's not just somewhere to earn, it's somewhere to learn and grow, which is why I love it.

Hi Sandra, Thank you for reminding for this site for response typing. I think I came across it through the web colleagues programe and thought it sounded good. I need something that is easy to use like this website. I'm also glad you say they have a friendy comminity like on here, which makes all the diffence.

Sounds like a three dimensional site rather than just a simple article marketplace. :)

There are a lot of writing sites I write for just for Textbroker. Their pay is low but if you want to make some money Textbroker is legit and one of the best writing sites on the internet.

Why do you use Textbroker as opposed to other sites? What do you like best about it? :)

Textbroker is fair and they help their writers improve their writing skills plus they are honest with their writers they don't make you rewrite a perfectly good article just to get a couple of freebie articles out of their writers like some writing sites do. Like I said earlier Textbroker is legit.

Purely for money, I'd choose Constant-Content, simply because the model works so well. It's flexible, their editing guidelines aren't too strict (but are good enough to make sure the content is worthwhile) and the public request system means that even the less creative writers who struggle to find new and original things to write about (yeah, that's me) can get paid. I said "purely for money" but the site also has one of the friendliest customer service departments I've communicated with, too. Very, very nice people. For prettiness and ease of publishing, I'd choose HubPages. It's only rev share, so the income sucks, but the page builder's attractive, the community's friendly and despite the fact that there's some real crap posted, there's a lot of good writers producing fun content. It's a lot prettier than the text-only AC/Helium-style options, too.

Like any marketplace, you'll sell more if you write popular content or stick to the requested topics but there's no limit on what you can post there. Who knows what kind of weird stuff people want to buy?

With Constant Content don't you have to write in-demand articles? Or is the customer base large enough that a lot can go? :)

So far, I am loving my Lot. I am going to become a little more active on a site called Bukisa. I've heard good things, I just don't have my own story to tell yet so I can' speak eloquently on it yet. That's about it for me. What are you favorites? Why?

That's what I am focusing on more as well--blogging. I mean if I'm going to do all this writing I might as well learn ways of making more of the money for myself. That's what I'm in it for really. I do love to write don't get me wrong. It's my love of it that lends to me doing it all day long. I still want to get paid and the most I can possibly. I am working on a couple of blogs that I want to promote at the moment. I like the independent approach much better.

At this point, Associated Content since that is the only one I really have hands on experience with. It's not wise to call something "favorite," unless one has actually experienced it. :) Personally I am leaning towards a more independent approach - like a blog.
