Nobody can say I am happy in my life

I can honestly say that I am not happy. I have been through the mill. In other words, I have been to hell and back. But life goes on anyway. I am happy about one thing, well two things, my children are awesome and healthy, and my girl friend is beautiful and awesome. Other then that, I am truly not happy with my life at all.

Hello surekha, Life is full of sorrow & happiness. Life will become boring if we always get happiness or sorrows.All we need is the strength to tolerate sorrow & digest happiness. I consider myself to be more happy with the life because i understand if today i am in sorrow i will gather strength to fight with it after some time and again will become normal. But you are not the exceptional case as it is normal and every body feels like you friend.

Iam not problem free but iam happy with my life. If you think possitively then possitive things will happen. You cant allow little things to get you down. If so then you will be seriously depressed.

I quite accept your view no one on this Earth can say we are happy all the while and under all circumstances.If one is content with family life then one aspires for more income or better position in a job.We are in this life of ours plagued with real or imaginary problems.I feel it could be a saint or some person with great equanimity of mind who can be content and happy under all circumstances.I quite agree with you, God or a higher force has given us this opportunity in this world.We have to try and overcome all the difficulties in our path so that we make the best of this opportunity that we have been given.

Hi surekharathi, your discussion moves me really. You are right. human has no contentment in life that is why man continues to explore in life and learn some more. This discontentment has both good effect and bad effect. The good thing is that new technologies and innovations are being invented to continually improve our lives. the bad side is that it makes us unhappy. We are unhappy because we long for something more and it never ends. Now, all we can do is balance our life and be happy for what we have while reaching for things we desire to have in good faith. :)

Life is really hard and full of challenges but still it's worth living. I think without problems life is not life. I always think that everything happens for a reason. God will not give you trials that you can not over come.

There is a difference between our life and our life situations. These problems you speak of can only prevent happiness if we identify with them. If we realize that our life is much more than that, then we can be happy. Happiness is not about having no problems. I very much disagree with your view that nobody can say that they are happy in their life and I find it quite sad that you believe this. I do not believe that life is a chance to prove ourselves either. Life is just life. Maybe the problem is that you were promised something so great after life that you cannot appreciate the life you have.

Completely happy, very hard to come by in this world very cruel. Be thankful you can feel happy. Happy that you feel every moment, and you could feel in a long time. May your happiness, will always last a long time, and not taken quickly by sorrow.

God give us chance ,may be.Life of everyone has something or the other.As u said everytime we need something.If its there then we dont want to have it. It is human nature.More over its a Play which we are playing.

Yeah, I may agree in the the way you perceived life but don't you think that life without this challenges will be boring.And because of this problems living becomes interesting. And I don't think the Guy up there won't give you these challenges if you can not prevail on it.This is some sort of a test to us and if we really try our best we can overcome these challenges.

Hi surekha, Yes like a lot of people today, I have a lot of issues in my life. Though I can't say I am one hundred percent happy. I can say I am very content and satisfied with how things are. I do strive for happiness and improvements but am content. See there are many others with non-repairable issues so if I can say to myself this too shall pass then I am comforted knowing that happiness is around the corner. No one will be one hundred percent issue free, it is what we make out of what we have that allows us to accept and hence be happy.

surekha: One hundred per cent I agree with you. When I was 10 I wanted a permanent job. I got it. While in 22 I wanted promotion as stenographer. I got it. In 23 I wanted to become officer and I got it. But posted to Calcutta. again sorrow. promoted as manager in 1975 so happy some days. Again unhappy - I wanted to get marry. got married in 1976. happy. then again unhappy-I wanted transfer to tamil nadu to help my parents. Got it in 1978. happy I was posted as faculty. 1983 unhappy because faculty service was not taken for promotion only managership was wanted. I was running short by 3 months. Opted as manager. suddenly rule changed no need for manager. got promoted happy. After five years in 1988 again unhappy not getting further promotions. got it and after 5 years again unhappy wanted scale IV. not getting for 3 year. But 1995 got it but unhappy because posted to delhi........it goes like this always not happy. Now I have everything - family, children, grand children - but i am not in my place. I will go in october then happy but unhappy because away from children??? Interesting is it not?

Yes, most of the world does have problems, though some of us have more SEVERE problems than others. Not to mention that all problems are simply relative; meaning unless you have been in the same position you are not going to understand, truly understand the others person issues and what they are going through. Your problems may seem the end of the world to you and cause much havok, but in comparison your problems are really nothing to even worry about. I have had people just say out loud "if I had to go through what you are and did go through I would have killed my self gone insane" and they have problems too. It just depends if you are the type of person who views the problem as a half cup full or half cup empty and what silver linning does it have. Almost everything does have one. I thank God for waking up even with pain and all the major issues Ihat are going on in my life.

Dear surekha,it is our human tendency that we never get satisfied in any way,either we are very happy or very sad.we find some new point as a problem,like if we are very happy ,we wish it should be little more and if we are sad ,we say why? we are facing this problem.......and it never end..thats why everybody say I am not happy in my life........

i really have to beg to differ. it all depends on how a person looks at things. happiness is a decision, not something decided by external factors. no one, and nothing, can make you happy if you decided to be not. similarly, no one and nothing can make you unhappy if you decided to be. like marriage, some decided they will let fate decide and be happy with whatever fate deals them. being single has a lot of advantages too, like being able to make plans on the spur of the moment without having to constantly checking with another person. not having to explain to another person why i am spending my OWN money to buy something is another HUGE advantage. there's always two ways to look at something. decide to be happy today and you will!

I think the phrase that reads "God doesn't give you more than you can handle" would come into play here. I am not a religious person but I think what you have set down here is pretty negative. No one has ALL of these problems. One or two or at the most three. You can make it what you want to.

Hello Surekha, these are not problem. It is life. Performing marriage is not a problem it is routing task of our life. If these things are not have in our life than what will we do, how we spend our time. What you write in your topic all these are our routine task not problem.

I have happy moments in my life. They're like golden gems. I appreciate the simple gestures, someone's progress and a day when everything had a good flow. I'm living on limited financial situation. I'm recovering myself in health from being totally exhausted during 10 years. I've a child with autism and retarded developments who needs 24 hours care 7 days a week. I'm getting better in my post traumatic stress depression. I'm a full time single parent, since 2001. I'm part-time student since January 2011. I've learnt to keep a positive attitude to overcome obstacles. My happiness in based on how I experience what's in my life. There are happiness to be found in each day.

Yes you are correct. Everybody has their own problems and no one in this world is carefree. It would be really nice if there were no problems though. But sadly I do have problems in my life and there are new problems arising everyday. But thankfully some problems are being solved everyday too.

Hello, I am new here and this is my first post. Yes, everyone has its own problem and that includes me. Problems are also part life. In my opinion, without it life would be boring. There are people who have the worst problem in life, but they still struggle to live because there are things that are worth living for.
