I Lost A Very Good Friend

I feel very sad today because I just found out that a very good friend of mine has passed away 2 years ago and I didn't even know about it until yesterday. 
We met online from a website 5 years ago and we started chatting. He's from KL and we have become very good friends ever since. He came to Penang to visit me a few times. I don't know his family members at all, I mean I do know them from what he told me, but I have never met them before.
We haven't been contacting each other for quite some time already and it just came to my mind to give him a call to see how he's doing, and I got the shock of life when his daughter told me that he has passed away 2 years ago, and he was only 52 years old. 
I know he has been having some heart problem but he really enjoyed eating and he just loved the food. I always advice him to watch his cholesterol. I just feel very bad because I wasn't there for him when he was feeling sick.
I just can't help thinking of him and my tears will just flow down my face whenever I think of him. I shouldn't have waited so long to keep in touch with him. I really regret that.
My friends, if you have someone that you hold very dear to you in your heart, don't ever forget them. Always keep them in your thoughts and keep in touch with them whenever you have the opportunity. Great friends are very hard to find. I know because I just lost one great friend.
Mike, I started this discussion specially for you because I want to remember you always. You are my one true friend and I love you. May your soul rest in peace.

Sorry to hear about your friend. But he is painless now so don't be too sad. Just pray for him that he may rest in peace.
I do agree with you that we should cheerish those people we love most.

Jlyn, sorry to hear that you had loss a very good friend. It is indeed a very sad news since you only came to know about it recently. Friend who is very understanding and always stick to us, is like we are losing one of our hands. Hope you can overcome your sadness soon. I am sure Mike will be very happy to see you had started this discussion in memory of him.

Agreed that we need to go one with life. I feel much better already, thank you. I guess it was just too shocking for me at that time, and I just couldn't accept the fact that I have not been in contact with him for so long. I felt like I wasn't a good friend to him.

Thanks, myfb. He was really a very good friend to me. Sad that I didn't get the chance to talk to him before he went to be with the Lord.
Yes, I started this discussion because I wanted memories of him here. And I wanted to share with you guys how great as a person he is to me.

very sorry for that incident.Yes we should be in contact with the persons we know if not atleast some information we should get.As if the person doesnt exist in the world we can do nothing.So when life is there we should take care of all these things so that we never regret for things which will never ever regained back.

However sometimes a gap comes unknowingly and such incidents happen.We can do nothing for sudden incidents .

i know how you feel but believe me he is always in your heart.i lost my friend too in 2010 my childhood friend he pass away because of illness.we went to primary school together,i was present at his wedding,i was with him when his wife gave birth.he's more than friend to me he's like brother to me.sometimes i miss him but i'm happy because i know he was released of his suffering

so sad to hear that news from your dear friend.Its really nice to keep in touch always to our dear friend coz as u said true and good friend are hard to find so we always keep it in our hearts.i know its hard on ur part losing such a good friend keep praying his soul i know such friendship remains in ur hearts forever...

Maybe he don't want you to worry so he did not told you about his sickness. Anyway a good friend is precious like a gem. You might not see him again but you can remember him. Don't be sad, ok?

He did tell me that he has had some heart problem, but he still can't control his intake of food. He likes to eat all the high cholesterol food.
Yes, he is precious like a gem to me and no, I never want to forget him.

I am sorry to hear that your good friend passed. Yes this has to be hard as so many of us do not take the time to communicate sometimes due to busy lives. Know that while you were friends you cared deeply and where ever he is he will know how much you did care.
This is a good reminder to all of us to take a few moments to remember/communicate from time to time with those we care about. Pray for him and his surviving loved ones so that you are comforted in knowing that he is resting in peace.

Life is so unpredictable and it makes me mad sometimes, especially when something like this happens. And yes what you said is absolutely true. If you have someone dear in life, tell them how much you love and care coz we might not be here tomorrow.

I'm so sorry for your loss.. even though it happened a long time ago.. it's like it just happened for you. It really does hurt when your friends pass away.. but that love never stops.
