Did Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 movie meet your expectations?

I'm sure many of you already watched the final Harry Potter movie. How did you find it? Was it to your liking? Or you felt like it lacked in the sense that there should have been scenes in the book that wasn't in the movie? I personally liked the film version because it translated what I read in the book. I just wish that the movie was a bit lengthier to give way to other stories like that of Aberforth and to put in detail what happened to the twins. I also wanted more action in the battle at Hogwarts. But I'm glad they didn't cut out much of Severus Snape's back story. That reduced me to tears behind my 3D glasses. How about you, what can you say about the movie? Did it meet your expectations or not?

I went on opening day, because my kids really wanted to see it. I thought it was probably the best of the movies, and certainly much better than DH part 1. But I agree with you--it was a little too short. More should have been said about Dumbledore's past, for sure. I even thought more could have been added about Snape--such as why Lily didn't marry him after all. But over all, I thought the movie was very well done, especially the Snape back story. But still, I will be waiting for the extended version on dvd!

I guess having read the books, I kinda wanted everything I've read to be translated into the big screen. But of course, cinema has its limits -- time limits (hehe!). Yeah, can't wait to get the DVD versions. There are probably scenes that have been edited out to fit the movie into just above 2 hours.

I think nowadays movies like this can be 2 1/2 hours, but what do I know? Anyway, I hope the dvd is out for Christmas!

this film really met and exceeded my expectations! Hands down the best film i've seen all year! I would really suggest that anyone who hasn't yet been to see it should. (and this is coming from someone who strictly speaking isn't a big Harry Potter fan) :)

That's nice to hear coming from someone who, as you said, isn't much of a big Harry Potter fan. Have you watched the past movies? They're nice as well, you can see from the past 7 movies how the characters evolved.

Watched it in 3D as well. But it's still enjoyable even in regular cinemas. I agree with the action part, I felt the battle should've at least been lengthened since this is one of the highlights of the book. But all in all, the last movie gave a great ending to Harry Potter's story.

Certainly, Yes! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2 really met my expectations. Although, I agree that if they elaborate more the story in detail, then it will be nicer. My most favorite part was Severus Snape's hidden protective actions to Harry. It had a good ending though, most of the people I know, appreciate the story more after watching the last part of Harry Potter, that made them into thinking of watching the very first Harry Potter movie which was the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and the rest.

Snape's "memory" was my favorite part as well, even in the books. I literally cried inside the cinema watching it. And yeah, after watching it, I'm waiting to get a copy of all the Harry Potter DVDs and watch them altogether. Hehe!

well i think it was good movie but not up to my expactations .it was moving very fast and i agree that movie should be a bit longer . They cut out many scenes but as you said Snape story was alright . it could be the more lenthier but was okay.

Yeah, I wish it ran for more than 2 hours. They probably cut out some scenes in the movie because they were concerned it was too long for kids. Hopefully the DVD version contains a director's cut.
