How can you find inner peace?

How can one find inner peace and a purpose in life? Is it a matter of trial or error, like shooting an arrow at an elusive target in the dark?

I do not believe so. Inner peace can be achieved when we stop identifying with our minds and by living in the now. Dwelling too much in the past creates regret. Dwelling too much in the future creates anxiety. If we fully accept the now and stay present, then there is peace.

I think everyone's inner peace is different and is reached differently. Some people seem to have reached that inner peace way earlier than others. For myself i feel that inner peace will truly be reached when...i can accept myself and be able to not think as negatively about myself as i do at times. I'm doing better...getting closer. I also think that one needs to not be as dependent on other people for their own happiness. If you depend on someone else to make you never will be happy.
