I am going to refer you to a site - http://majorgeeks.com/ They have all types of software that you can download and they tell you right up front if it is free or how much the charge is. You can also see reviews from people who have alaready downloaded it. My husband and I both use windows xp. Antivirus - he uses Avira (free) and I use Rising (free) - both do a good job; some people swear by AVG (free) and they are all available through majorgeeks. Cleaning your computer and making it go faster - ccleaner is one we both keep on our computers; but, I have also found one called Advanced SystemCare (free) and it finds things that ccleaner misses PLUS it has a lot of ohter tools including one called "system optimation" and one called "internet booster". Also at majorgeeks, you can ask questions on their forum (or look at previous posts) to get answers to any problems you may be having.

Have you tried using ccleaner? It is a freeware and is a great utility tool.It cleans up all your temporary files, internet cache and other files that are left over during installation and uninstallation of various programs that are useless. It might probably speed up your computer.Hope this helps.Cheers,..
