Hello Lotters, I was supposed to mylot still when a group of technicians from Globe came in today to set up the internet connection. but this wasn't for us because we already have a Wired DSL connection which is running around one megabyte per second. This was meant for one of our renters, Video City. they've been requesting for Internet Connection set up for a while from Globe, but they kept getting rejected because they run a commercial business therefore it should be a commercial account but it needs another permit to do that which is gonna take a while. I don't know how she pulled it of but she was able to acquire for Residential Account, so that's why instead in their commercial space, it was set up in our HOUSE. I was helping them with the set up but mom was somewhat irritated as I kept intervening, of course, I Have some knowledge in phone and internet line connections as to why I was helping them, probably easy to get rid of them as I am being bothered from my mylotting. But sadly the WI-MAX internet modem (1mb) that they requested is DEFECTED..so they took the antenna, other lines and gonna come back the next day to have a new replacement modem. *i guess this one advantage that we have on the wireless, because the signal can be weak compare to the wired, which is already fixed* * I do Have a Devilish proposal though, we still have the Net Gear Router and I will asked the Technician to use it for a test. if it works, I might have my Mom's computer set up there instead :D so that she can share the internet connection with the renter. besides, the manager of that video city branch said, she will rarely use the internet and use more on the Landline...the net gear didn't work in my prolink modem. Anways, that's what happened this date (7/19/11). Comment you later. I think it's illegal for a commercial business to apply for a residential connection, same goes to my other friend and my cousin here who has an internet Shop with residential internet connection :P. but if it's cheaper, why go for commercial right?

I wonder how much Video City is paying your family for the rent . Do you own a building . Or maybe your home is located somewhere in commercial areas that's why your home or your building rentable . I do have wireless connection already . as it is very much useful when you have a laptop or even a wifi mobile phone . it is less of a hassle because you don't need any wired connection

I guess your home has a very big frontyard for your family to be able to convert them into a commercial space . $240.00 my guess its about 10,000 pesos or A bit more . Too bad my home is located on a residential area and we don't have much space to convert into a commercial space . But that's a very cool business . Her

It was originally meant for three spaces but a bakery shop beg for the middle place and gave higher rental advance so that we can make the fourth space.

Hello bhaby, Talked about LUCK! isn't it. but if the net gear doesn't work then i would have to let their router hang out inside for a while. not to mention it's power adopter generated and it's consuming "our" electricity here so, better have my mom had share of that internet connection since it's wireless. Yes, I know it's for paying lesser rates why you guys go for residential and besides, commercial rates are higher compare to residential but same freaking length of signal. *oh, by the way, they are indeed strict, so I can't afford to bribe them just like you suggested the last time*

Hi there. Net gear won't work with out systems here in the Philippines. My aunt brought a netgear router and it didn't work either. I think it has something to do with the limitations of something that we read online when my brother and I tried to set it up. Anyhow, as for commercial lines and residential lines, I don't think that it's really something to be thinking 'lucky' for now because my father's internet connection (a commercial one) and mine (a residential one) both working on the same speed (so they say) has huge differences in actual performance. His connection is more stable and consistent as compared to mine. You always get what you pay for. Have a great MyLot experience today!

Hello Laydee, Well, we just set it up here again because I think some technicians yesterday. but now a different tech group says otherwise, it worked, but unfortunately, this proves that the router was not compatible with my modem which is the pro link. it only worked with the wimax modem of that of the renter

I cannot deny the fact I could not clearly make out the type of connections you provided to your tenants. If you have the netgear router that should be accessible within certain area to wireless enabled systems. If you have set some security settings you have to share the ID and password information to the tenant too. You are saying they do not access internet so much, there should be no problem. Could be their wi-fi card (which you may be referring as WI-Max) requires to be configured to be compatible with the Netgear router transmissions, which you must have already done, ere this posting, and succeeded too!

Hello Hanuman, Nope this is her (branch manager's) account, and it's placed here because they might remove it if they found out that the one who applied is using it for business purposes.we don't to configure because it works, proves that it was incompatible with my modem which is the prolink. so far the one megabyte speed that they have is good.
