How Do I Keep Up With MyLot Notifications

I have been out for more than 10 days. My MyLot folder is therefore flooded with notifications which I would like to check out one by one. I would like to see what topics I can join. But it would really take a long time and I may not be able to respond on time. I'm guessing I could have over a hundred new mails from MyLot and I only have 3-4 hours to read what I can read. I also noticed that my star declined a notch! Oh well! I'll just do what I can do and simply enjoy the community as I go. Have you ever been in this kind of situation? Say, you went for a vacation or needed to go offline for a couple of days? How did you get back on the saddle?

You don't like to receive nots from MyLot? I find them very helpful to me. Anyway, if they're still coming, just mark it as spam so you don't get bothered with them coming in your mailbox all the time.

It does not mean that I'm disgusted with it. The problem is I have also other emails from different sites that I joined but no longer active with them plus the notifications here. I can't manage to read 1000 messages. It will be very time consuming. No I wont to mark it spam.Anyways, you told that it is very helpful to you, aside from those frequently notice I received that my friends are creating new discussions what other notifications sample would they send? Because that's the only notifications I receive or maybe I just didn't notice it cause I didn't read them I just delete them all.

The nots I receive are the new topics my MyLot friends created and the responses of the MyLot community to the response that I made in their topics. They add up everyday! Anyway, what you can do is filter your MyLot nots in a separate MyLot folder so they don't mix with other mails. What do you think? That's what I do...hihihi

Hello beingwell, I was on my vacation in the end of May to June for one month this year and I could not ‘turn off’ the notifications that time. When I came back I have seen my inbox is flooded with notifications. I have checked the comments and pms instantly and I made a separate folder moved the notifications about new discussions in to that. In between I am looking on that folder too. But I know it is difficult for me to manage all those old topics and current topics within the limited period I get here.

problems with money that made me quite internet and some private problems . i requested a connection and waited for it 4 months and after contacting (de onbudsman) here in Belgium a person that looks after customers complaints i desided to take a other provider and it took 3 days from requesting till having internet. so now i'm back butt i got like a 40000 mails at that time (alot off spam) and thats the way i cleared it up.

Yeap! Most of my MyLot friends are really active in creating new topics. Some make 10 in just a day. I could hardly catch up!

beingwell: This is situation is there in my case also. I am not able to spend more than 2 hours per day on mylot for the last two weeks. so 1400+ notifications pending. Look one advantage with mylot is you can do it leisurely and still it will not be considered outdated or stale, just as this response is. I normally look into new comments on discussions where I have responded. thereafter I take new responses received for my discussions then only the balance remains.

Hi rav! Luckily, I'm able to catch up with my lags. I may have a few more but I have substantially covered most of the topics and posts made while I was away.hihihi..

beingwell : that is because of your age, interest and speed in reacting. good keep it up. I have 1400+ even now. I have to balance with my paper preparation, household additional duties and babysitting my grandson and playing with grandson.

I haven't actually been in that position yet. But from what everyone else has already said, it seems that patience and doing a little at a time as often as you can seems the key to working through this back log of notifications. Good luck x

Whenever I fall behind in my mail, I just try to spend as much time as I can to catch up plus I normally start from the oldest so I can follow some posts which may need to be in chronological order. Good luck in catching up in your emails...it may take you days or weeks but you will eventually get there.

Try being gone for a year! Yeah I have oh 48000 notifications and they keep coming every day. I try to get through them as best I can but they keep piling up. What I've been doing is going by person, I'd pick one or two people to kind of respond to and that tends to help a bit. Since you don't have nearly as much I would suggest doing it like that. Pick two people and respond to their discussions in your email, then do that until you've got them all cleared out. I'd try to do atleast 100 a day if I were you so that you don't get soo trampled down!

A hundred a day is a lot! How much time do you spend in MyLot SC? Anyway, I'll try to do your advise and hopefully I can get back on all my delayed responses. Thanks!

All the time!!!! Just got back from the hospital where my son had surgery and was in for 5 days. So yes I tend to get out of the loop. I just do what a I can do and try not to stress myself too much. I try to remember that I am human and not a machine and can only do so much. Good Luck with catching up.

Yes I was away with no internet for 9 full days as my entire area was down. I came back to 1200 notifications for which I went through slowly and determined what I could respond to and what would be redundant. It took me about a week to do so but I did because I like to follow up to any questions that might have been left for me and or where I could see that some discussions could still use the help. I have a filtered folder in my email address so they do not mix in with my regular emails.

You and me both HWG! I also have a filtered folder just for MyLot. I like to read what new topics are in. 9 FULL days?? That's a lot of time! That's fine though, as long as you're having fun!

Hello Beingwell, I have never been in such situation i never missed a single day on MYLOT but i can feel there would be a flood of notification mails from MYLOT if i take a break from MYLOT for even for 5 days.Next time you can OFF your notification and check from the tabs if you don't want your mailbox to be over flooded.

Hi sjvg! It's fine though. I didn't turn it off because I want to know what I've missed during the times I was away. It wasn't really that long...10 days at least! Plus, I need to catch up with my discussions since cut-off is getting nearer and nearer!
