Where can I find editors/agents online?

Philippines

I have been writing my own novels. I'm from the Philippines, but it's written in English and I'm dreaming to get it published in an American publishing company. Mostly are romance which are mixtures of chiclit and contemporary. I am wondering if I would be able to find editors or agents online to whom I could submit my manuscript for review/editing. Or do they even exist?

I have not personally worked with editors or publishers, but I have heard about programs helping writers for that. One might try out finding them on the search engines too. There will be a number of people offering the services, and one needs to make sure they are experienced and qualified.

You can find editors on any freelance site (that's where I got my work before I went direct to clients). The problem is figuring out whether they're good or not! Setting criteria and asking for references from previous clients helps a lot, as does aiming specifically at people who edit for publishing - though they're often a bit more expensive. Writer's Market is a good place to start, as well, or on a writing community like Scribophile or Authonomy, where you can get critiques, suggestions and even editing from other people in return for doing the same for them.
