hi friends. 2000th test match. 100th test between england and india at the home of cricket. sachin's 100th ton in sight. too much hype created for this match and even the english players joined in the chorus giving contradictory comments like india is a very good side but we have the advantage.lol. seems the rain gods got mad that they were invited for this epic match so they showed up uninvited and spoiled the match as well as the half of the hype. the indian bowlers did their best to destroy the remaining hype. anyone who watched the toss must have thought back to similar circumstances where south africa won the toss after rain interuption, bowled first and got out indian cheaply in the first test. but from the first ball itself its clear that both teams are not exactly in the mood. in conditions assisting swing, our bowlers bowled like they were bowling to the zimbabwe test team. and the english players played like they were facing malcolm from one end and ambrose from other end. so to make up for the lack of thrill on the field , we had india's spearhead and the only hope of getting england all-out twice,go out with hamstring strain and making the bowling look worser than windies. to make it more intresting dhoni is bowling. so is it really living up to the hype?

Yes, the test match is living to its hype. KP getting a 200, Praveen gettin a 5 for..Even Dhoni blowing in the 2nd day. What else do you want? The conditions are perfect for a great test match. Its very unfortunate that Zaheer has got injured and cudn't bowl too much. Even the english players are performing very well and are up to the standard. Hope to see a great test match in the coming days. Happy Mylotting :)

I think ICC forgot to send a memo to the weather gods, before creating the hype around the 2000th test. :) Two performers really stood up in terms of performance. Praveen Kumar bowled probably one of the best swing bowling spells in the recent past. And Kevin Peterson came to the party with a great double century. Now the stage is set for a good batting performance from the Indian team and probably the 100th 100 by Sachin. Sadly if that happens this test match would be a draw!! Cheers! Ram

Its all media hype and nothing else.Any test whether its 2000 or 10000th will be played under the same rules.England has gained an upper hand till after lunch on the 2nd day. India missed her chances of restricting England by dropping a few catches and to add to their woes Zaheer is injured. But anything can happen in cricket. Few wickets can change the course of the game

surely before the start of the test its was having too much hype. all happened due to some fantasy numbers as part of the cricket. but I dont presently feel the projected hype in this test match. I feel that this test is tending towards draw. And will Sachin hit century in this test thats another question.

Very well put across and yes there has been so much hype about the first test match considering that it will surely have historic importance. And the best part is the uninvited guest decided to come and make its presence felt. The media can just do anything this days and even a small incident can become breaking news and almost all the times when you switch on the television and check the news it will always have breaking news irrespective of the situation. This is just another match and is being played will the same rules and just cannot understand the hype. The world is a crazy place..
