i'm having problems in budgeting my allowance, even though i think it's just enough or even more its just that i spend it in a way that it will only last a week and i won't have extra, so when there are emergencies i become short in money. can you advice me how to save money?

Put your money in five packets. Open only one packet in the week. The fifth one you keep for emergency. It requires some discipline and some control of your desires. Prioritize your expenditure.

if we knew more about what you meant when it came to "allowance" it'd be helpful. Here in the USA, allowance generally means "money that is given from prents/ grandparents / etc for doing meanial tasks". I would suggest taking, say you get $80.00, take $20.00 of it and save it back, then the rest goes to bills or spending. If you don't have any bills then $40.00 towards savings and $40.00 towards spending. Like I said, it'd help if we knew more about your situation so we could suggest to you easier ways.

it is allowance from my parent's coz i'm living alone now, because the university i attend to is far from our hometown. my allowance was a lot smaller before but it still can cover my expenses for a week now that i have a higher allowance i still don't have any savings. maybe i adopted to my allowance and the way i spend changed prior to the increase in my allowance.

First, pay yourself. That means to set aside money for savings so that when you have an emergency, you have the funds to cover it. I don't know what expenses you have or how big your allowance is, but put aside at least 10% every time. The way to set up a budget is to track your spending for a few weeks to see just where your money is going. Use a notebook and write down everything you spend, whether it's rent money or a cup of coffee. At the end of that time, sit down and create categories: Housing, Entertainment, Transportation or whichever ones fit your situation. Put your money spent in the proper category then add them all up. That will give you an idea of how much you need to spend. You might find a few shockers there. You might realize that you're overspending on frivolous things or that you're not spending much where you thought you were. Either way, this is a good way to get a look at where your money really goes. When you've figured that out, set a certain amount for each category that reflects what you really spend. If you don't like the way it looks, adjust it to reflect what you think you should spend in each category. Just make sure to take the savings our first, then tackle the rest.

Budgeting your money is not always an easy task, unfortunately. One good way of doing it is taking a piece of paper, write down your expenses and such, and just write down everything. Calculate how much you want to spend on your expenses, or how much something will cost. It's a good way of making sure that everything balances and such. You actually can see it, and I find that that helps. Keep track of things.

Saving money is like solving a math problem, it's very hard and you have to do the method of trial and error. There are a lot of recommendations on how to save money, just try it if its work for you. Here if the first option, after receiving your allowance, set a side a few amounts and make it as your savings put it in an envelope and hide it somewhere or place it your bank account so that you will not be able to spend it. Then you can you can use the rest of the money for whatever you needed. Second option would be to enumerate the things that you need the most for a week, set an amount for each and set a desired amount for your savings so that you will have enough when you need it badly.

Saving money means being wise with your spending. You can save money by buying things that you needed rather that you wanted. Be practical in your way of living. And Lastly being firm with your decision. For example, if you have a 10 dollar and you decide not to spend the 1 dollar then so be it. Make a little sacrifice to save money for the future emergency or whatever you like.

You should get a piece of paper and write on it how much you have in the way of money coming to you. This could be per week or per month. Then you could take off money for your accommodation. You could allow yourself a certain amount for food. Tap water if it is safe to drink is a good idea. You could then have a limited amount of money for other things like transport, new clothing, new shoes or something else essential. For example for a particular person as an example: Earns $100 a week Rent costs $60 a week Food costs $20 a week So he or she will save $20 a week. He or she will walk or cycle to work. He or she will try to make do with clothing and shoes. He or she will borrow books from the local library, enjoy walking in the park and having a run along the sea front. So he or she manages to save $80 per month. Good luck.

You know it is hard to budget even you have lots of money at your hand because the temptation is [just around the corner. We are always tempted to buy extra need out of [budget because we see a [[new clothes and cellphones or accessories. They are tempting to our eyes. Now i only suggest to you is to keep your budget as only for your important needs. First put the most important listings then follow what is written..and avoid malls for window shopping if you can.. and this is a simple reminder of you only..

What are the things that you usually spend money for? How much is your food budget? your rental fee, transportation fee? you should have a list so that you will know where you spend your allowance. Do you often go out with friends and watch a movie? if there are things not important, then skip spending on them. You can save money by just eating on a local food stall rather than a class restaurant. Spend only on things necessary and not on your wants like clothing, shoes, etc. Discipline is the key. You need to train yourself to control on the things you buy and saving money so that you can have something for tomorrow.

The best way I know how you can go about is this. On the first week don't think about budgeting yet. List all your expenses day by day. As long as you put out money list that as your expense. And on the weekend evaluate your expenses look at how much money you put out. Then look at how money are you willing to spend for a week. Now delete all of the unnecessary expenses maybe if you can cut your snacks or so. Or if you could walk rather than commute. Then in the succeeding weeks try to buy only those things that you saw that you need. I think this is the best strategy for you because it makes you aware of all the expenses you put out for a week.
