I don't have a perfect skin and it's my weakness. I had never ever been conscious about it when i was in my teens and i really didn't care much about it at all. Then when i became an adult, i realized how important it is to take care of our skin and i guess i'm a bit too late. Now there's one habit that i really need to break and that's touching my face often. It's not good to touch your skin or remove your white heads and blackheads with your own hands as this would irritate the skin. Lately i have been investing on good products to make my skin look good minus the make up which i hardly put on. So i really need to break this habit of touching my face. I made a vow not to do it anymore and to make sure that my hands are clean before putting anything on my face or even touching it. And you mylotters are my witnesses! Wanna share any bad habits of yours?

Hi Toni! I think if you should consciously keep reminding yourself that you are not supposed to touch your skin, it may help you abstain from touching your skin. If you remain conscious about it, you would be able to get rid of this problem. Actually, our skin tissues/cells are very delicate and should not be poked unnecessarily. It may be that you see yourself in the mirror too often …………. If you are in a group, touching your face time and again could also mean that you want to draw their attention towards you. For example, if you happen to observe few persons in a gathering, you would notice that some of them keep touching their faces or keep touching their ornaments/accessories or dress, many of theme have a hidden and subconscious desire that others should notice them

Actually i seldom look at my face in the mirror because i have this sort of fear which was discussed in one of my posts here. I don't know why i just keep on touching it. It's not because i want to draw attention, but i usually do it when i'm alone and unconsciously. YOu are right. I should be more conscious about my actions and constantly remind myself not to do it at all. Unless i have put on some antibac gel on my hands and i need to wipe my face off of some dirt. Thanks.

Probably I missed your post wherein your mentioned about your 'fear' (send me the link, if possible for you, so that I could have a look). Even if you keep touching your face when you are alone, it normally could not be without any reason(s). Hope now you will remain more conscious from now onwards.

It's called mannerism. Mannerisms are done unconsciously when it has become a habit. So i really have to follow your advice on being conscious about it. STill doing it until now. So remind me once in awhile ok?

I would have to admit to the face one as well, and also, smoking too, as I am sure this deals a-lot with my skin problems I have experienced in life and still do. Good-luck with yours :D.

Awww, it will be okay though. You will get it. Have you thought about replacing the habit? Like you know, if you get the urge, maybe replace it with doing something else? Only bad thing that comes with that is... you develop a new habit usually. I use to do it, but realized my new habits I was developing were just awkward.

With regards to my skin, I am not so conscious about it when I was younger. When I take a bath, I just lather on the soap and rinse, no exfoliating whatsoever or putting on lotions and sunscreen afterwards. I don't shave and no putting on make-up. When I go out I am not afraid of the sun rays. It is only now that I am on my later years that I notice that I have so many skin discolorations and my skin ha become darker. That's one bad habit of mine, that is I'm lazy taking care of my skin, having those rituals that a woman should be doing while young. Though I think it is quite late to bring back the moisture and the smoothness of my skin, I still try to make it possible by having the nightly rituals and pampering my skin when taking showers. I hope I can still delay the aging of my skin. I am just lucky that I did not experience those acne and skim imperfections on my face, only on my arms and legs.

It's genetics that you don't have pimples on your face. And like you i was neglectful of my skin when i was younger and yes i am trying my best to take care of it now that i'm 33 and hoping that it's not too late yet.

Hey I think you're not right at the part when you said you're too late. I think it's not late to start treating your skin with care. you can start it today and can see the difference in a month's time. Was your face couple of times a day, do the egg facial once a week, and there are many tutorials on youtube you could try. Me, I have been a real skin freak since forever. I like taking care of skin like some people like taking care of their hair/clothes. The least I wash my face is twice a day. Anyway the one bad habit i had was bitting my nails off. I did it without even realising it but I have somehow stopped that habit of mine and now I have beautiful nails erm the current bad habit of mine is being lazy. I am lazy to the extent that i starve hahah!!

My skin has developed sun damaged wrinkles but yes i have treated them. It's too late because i have deep scars on my nose already. That can be fixed but it would be very expensive and no skin creams or regimen will be able to remove those deep scars. . I am in a skin regimen system and actually my skin is glowing now. But of course there's still constant white heads and blackheads appearing now and then due to my bad habit. As you can see the scars are there already and can't be removed and my pores are bigger. Though I can make the pores appear smaller, but they won't disappear.

I have bacne scars on my back too but i think it's been about a while since I started treating my back with apple cider vinegar and green tea and the scars seem to be reducing slowly. So yeah I think you just need to find something that will help you. Hope you find it and good luck for that

I think everyone is conscious about their skin too. Because appearance nowadays is really important. From work to friends to love etc, need I say more. Taking care of our skin is tedious. But not for those people who are gifted with good skin. Those with small pores and does not even have a zit or blackhead hence does not go under any regimen for it. Lucky them. Back in college days, I used to have pimples too. And now some scars are still visible. But I seldom have pimples now, my only problem is I have an oily skin. Oiliness is next to ugliness as they say haha. Talking about make up, I'm fond of it. But when I'm lazy to put on make up, I just use a moisturizer, it gives my skin a certain glow. That's why I also keep my skin tan, I think it helps me to achieve a no make up look which I really love.

I too have an oily skin but the product that i'm using now makes it less oily as it used to. I like my color as well and i don't really like having that milky white skin that everybody is raving for. I guess we are lucky that we have tanned skin!

Hi, there toni! :) I think, you really have to break that habit of yours. You could have irritate your skin and what I've heard that if you constantly touch your face with your hands, it could cause pimples to grow. I don't have that habit but I think, what I like to break is my being a procrastinator. It's really not good. It makes me less productive. :(

I think I have good skin. I am very vain about my face -- I cleanse, tone, moisturize and always make sure I wear sunblock My yucky habit right now is scratching my nape. It's really itchy and I know I have to do something about the flakes. I hate it. Have a nice day!

Hi toniganzon, I do have the same problem as you face and I touch my face too too often. I have a lot of pimple on my forehead and there are already a lot of scar marks there. Not only do i touch my face often, i tend to peel and dig the pimples too. Every time i see my forehead, i feel really sad. Everytime I tell myself to stop scratching my pimple and not to pick at my pimple. However, i just keep forgetting about it. I really need to make sure i get rid of this bad habit before my face gets worse.

I have two bad habits that I need to break, though neither of them is related to skin. I'm generally quite lucky with my skin - I'm lazy about following a skin care routine, and I eat tonnes of chocolate, and I don't drink enough water....but I very very rarely wear makeup, I almost never wear foundation (maybe once a month for an evening?) and so my skin generally is relatively clear. The two habits I need to break are: a) Impulse shopping b) Reading but not responding on mylot! I'm a very skint student, trying to save money, and impulse shopping is making it really hard. As well, there are NO jobs going in my area, so I'm trying to concentrate on earning what little I can through mylot, so I MUST make sure to leave more comments. I haven't reached payout yet, but I'm hoping to get into a habit of posting more often, and longer responses, so that my earnings will steadily increase. I'd love to be at the point of earning $1 a day, but at the minute I'm averaging more like 20cents a day - which definitely isn't going to help much! But fingers crossed with determination and dedication we can both break our bad habits!

I believe so. You're a student and you're an impulse buyer! Those kind of things can inspire you to write in mylot! Everyday experiences will do too. You have the motivation, now all you just have to do is push yourself. You need money right. At first i thought it wasn't possible to get a dollar or more in mylot. But i was surprised that i did it two weeks ago. It was inspiring to have more than a dollar earned in just a single day here. So let's just help each other out and break those bad habits!

My beauty products are quite effective. But as i've said i'm a little too late. And i just want to break the habit of picking on my pimple or touching my face all the time. I do visit a dermatologist for some facials to clean it up. But again i'm saying that all of these effort would come to nothing if i continue my habit.

I have this habit of biting my nails before. I a happy to have gotten over it. I stopped when I saw the habit done by someone else. Then I told myself, gosh I look terrible in doing so. Then I stopped.

Good realization! Sometimes it takes another person to show us how awful it is for us to realize. Good for you! I'm still not over my bad habit yet.

I had a few skin problems when I was younger, but not now. I can touch my face as much as I want, it doesn't affect me, my skin is very tough. But being a guy I can sometimes have problems through shaving. And I have a bad habit of sometimes shaving with a safety razor without shaving cream; I mean: dry. It's not good for the skin; and I should avoid doing it completely. But my skin's so tough and it heals so well, I just do this from time to time. Oh, and sometimes if I get something in my eye, I'll poke too hard at it trying to get it out with the corner of a tissue. And end up with very sore eyes. These are some bad habits of mine related to the face.

I guess a bad habit that I need to break would be smoking? LOL.. I actually have asthma, and I guess I've gotten used to it. At least I have been cutting down on smoking and smoke half a pack a day instead of my usual pack a day. I'll be cutting down more soon enough. Wish me luck!

Good luck! That's one habit that's difficult to break. Good thing my smoking never became a habit. It was just a passing trend for a year and i'm totally free from it. I think you can do it as long as you are sincere in quitting.

I keep telling my roommate not to touch his face every time he's got a chance too. I think you have the same habit. His pimples spread through out his face because of the constant touching. He just can't help it. I told him not to touch it so often as it could irritate his face, his pores and the pimples will just sprout from everywhere in his face. He used to have a pretty good and smooth face before but it was gone now, his face has a lot of pimples now. I said, if he doesn't stop touching his face like that, and that often, he would never get over with those pimples. I do have pimples every now and then but I don't touch them so often. I'd rather have my facial spa too, rather than removing whiteheads and black heads from my face. :)

Will you be my roommate? So i can have someone to remind me not to touch my face. It's true it will really irritate the pimple and cause more trouble. I just did a moment ago again without noticing it and i really need you badly to remind me not to do it ok.
