The higher your earnings the higher your bills. I seem to be in that situation. But i still know how to save. When i have the money in my pocket i tend to think what more should i buy? So what i do actually is to immediately deposit the money into my bank account. And i have this other bank account which automatically gets fund from my other account and saves it there. I couldn't touch that if i don't transfer the money back to another account. So that's wise saving i guess.

but having a credit card is having cash, so its the same and i don't really use cash may be i should start doing that. debit card and credit card don't really help the savings.

Credit card won't help you at all. It will make you owe more money. Debit card on the other hand is a totally different thing. And i'm not talking about it actually. I"m talking about an auto debit transfer to another savings account that you can't touch, hence that would make you save money.

stay out of stores, no going out for dinner, only spend what is necessary on bills. start saving your change in a jar, that will help too.

I think that one good way of saving for a vacation is to put aside a specific amount every month. It should be an amount that you should be able to put aside every month. Create a monthly budget, and try to put some money for vacation every month. It's an idea for you to try.

We are in the same situation. I have booked a flight going to an island by November of this year. I was encouraged by the airline promo so I immediately booked a flight for 5 persons. As of now, I am still worried how can I save for our vacation expenses because the means that we are getting right now is just right enough to sustain the needs of the family. I just keep myself busy with my online jobs, and hoping that it can support some of the would be expenses, anyway, my husband told me that the monthly interest that he is getting in his time deposit will somewhat cover some of the expenses. I just hope that those will suffice.

i tend to agree that the higher the earnings the higher the bills, but that is because you feel that you have money so you upgrade. you get the bigger car that uses a bit more gas and costs just a bit more to insure. You get that 4 bedroom house instead of the 3 bedroom one, even though you could really live with just 2. Then you have to heat and cool that bigger house. You think...it is only this once that I am stopping at (insert fast food). I have a programmable thermostat which has been my biggest life saver and money saver. If I know that I am going to be out of town for several days, I can turn off the a/c and only have it kick back on a few hours before I anticipate coming home. During the winter, I keep the thermostat set at 67 in the day and 64 at night (again with the programmbable thermostat). I also use the plastic sheeting as an extra layer of insulation on the windows. Set a timer and make efficient use of shower time. This will save money. Turn down your water heater a few degrees. USE CASH!!! you are more aware of where you are spending, and you can take the change and throw it into a jar. I make extra money online, I have sold stuff on Craigslist and ebay. I participate in survey sites. That money goes into an account, and it becomes my christmas fund so that I am not using household money for christmas shopping. plan meals out ahead of time, go to the store with a list and stick to it. use coupons as well.

With the times we are in right now, many have problems saving money. But there are endless ways of doing it. Utility bills can be draining your wallet, but simple things like turning off lights and unplugging appliances not in use can save a lot. Turning thermostat down in winter months and up in summer can save on heating and air conditioning. Using coupons, using a list, not shopping hungry, and buying sale items can save on groceries. Saving anything even if it's no more than a hand full of change put in a jar can add up.

When you really put your determined mind to SAVE money. You can do it. Evaluate all your expenses. Are they necessary? What can you spend less on? In what way can you make everything become cheaper? Do not buy clothes. Cook your food from the basic groceries. Do not use more electricity then necessary. Do not use more water than you really need. Do you spend more fuel in your car than you necessary need. Shop only onece a week. Plan you expenses in a calculation overview. Use a cashierbook, where you write down all your expenses.

If you want to save up for a vacation try investing your money right away. Investment plans can range for different holding times. Try asking your nearest bank regarding their bank products and investment portfolios that can be suitable for your planned vacation. The main strategy with money should be live well below your means. If you do that, you are sure be able to save and have enough money around.
