Drinking is a slow poison, its said...but does drinking heavy, as in really heavy, once a fornight, bad? I have a habit of partying hard and i'm only able to party once a fornight and sometimes even a month...how bad is it? Probably, some experience might help me...

LOL @ "Probably, some experience might help me..." It seems that you have quite enough experience in that department ... Yes, of course doing anything in excess, especially on a regular basis, even if it is only once a week or once every two weeks, can be harmful to you. Does that mean that you shouldn't do it? Well, that is really your call, especially if the only one that you are potentially harming is yourself. Just a small side-note here ... not that I have any experience in this area or anything, but I have heard that swimming while drunk can be very dangerous, so you probably should avoid doing that if at all possible.

What if one can't swim?

swimming! I've adifferent discussion going on which says i've learnt swimming myself and i'm not that fluent with it. And i've never had a poolside party so i do not think of swimming while drinking or after it.....and you're not drinking, you're missing a lot. It's not that bad!!! ;)

If you're only partying once a fortnight or once a month you are doing it wrong! Seriously though, be responsible and know your limits otherwise you might just find Nemo in the pool lol

"If you're only partying once a fortnight or once a month you are doing it wrong!" Pssstttt ... Zone, not everybody is Irish (or Scottish for that matter), and not everybody thinks that Whiskey is the appropriate liquid to have with your Wheaties in the morning.

I really want to be finding nemo at least once. I've strong resistance against getting drunk which does not let me get drunk even after so many drinks....

Going overboard even if it is fortnightly or on a monthly basis could make one get into the habit and this according to me is a dangerous trend.

From what I have seen around me liq.uor has no method it leads one helter skelter. It takes control before anyone tries to control it. Therefore! One starts with one and then two ..............

I really can't remember well what my worst experience being drunk actually. But, as I could remember, whenever I'm drunk, I can't just stop laughing.. Hehehe.. I think, that has become an indication by my friends when I'm getting drunk. :)

Depends how much you drink and how your body reacts to it, I am quite similar to you as I dont drink for a long time then go out and really hit the town hard. Did over £250 worth of vodka and orange in one night (I cant remember the end but it was baaaddd) I would say try and moderate it/find your happy point and stop drinking before you get to the "hammered stage", have a bottle of water next to your bed when you go home and hit the fry up/OJ the next day. Currently still working off a hangover from last night so if you find out how to do this please let me know ;)

I've actually struggled quite hard to reach that hammered state! Never got there. Before i get there, the party ends! Now, you cannot jus sit alone and drink...i have high resistance...though i remain in the happy state most of the time... :) i've never worried about hangover though...its not pestered me...people say, a headache tablet does wonders... ;)

Ya...it does hurt...and a lot ;) that's why its once a fornight! lol i go for scotch whisky, yet i end up not drunk! It sometimes gets irritating. I want to feel how it feels to get blown out. In the morning, i get the feel as if i've just had 2 drinks and i enjoy that a bit too. Going for brushing and you feel the whole world except your brush is shaking... lol

It's fair to say that binge drinking, regardless of frequency, is very dangerous for your health. If you are going to drink when out, even just on a fortnightly or monthly basis, then why not consider switching alternate drinks to soft drinks? This is a fantastic way to help you save money and will also ensure that you don't get hammered early in the night and end up either forgetting things, throwing up or going home because you need your bed. Also, it's dangerous to binge drink because of the damage this causes to your organs. Binge drinking can cause your organs to enlarge and this can lead to organ failure which can be deadly.

I would suggest drinking in moderation. Getting drunk even occassionally overtime is still hard in your body. That's why our body responds the way it does. Our system can only handle a certain amnount and when we go overboard, our organs work too hard.

Ok. I drink only that much that i'm still in control...my elder cousins always used to say - no matter how much i've made him drink, he never gets drunk! So, i've never been drunk...

Well when I use to live back on st.Croix I use to drink like every weekend none stop from the time I got up to the time I went to sleep. I use to havesome crazy weekends. But since I moved to thstates and you have to be 21 to drink I havn't been drinking (as much) and then just last year I got pregnant so I stopped completely for a year. But just this weekend I got stupid drunk. I didn't think it was bad though I thought I deserved too. I won't be drink again for awhile maybe for three months or so I have to take care of my son.

Oh! Responsibilities! I've seen many of these stuff around...the wife's not drinking cuz the kids are there and hubby's drinking and the wife drinking then the hubby won't cuz the kids wake up in the morning. The drunk wife would be telling sorry most of the time and he'd be simply smiling and telling her to enjoy :)
