So i got a tattoo yesterday. Slept on my side all night, scared my tattoo will get marred. Took a shower a few minutes ago, cleaned my tattoo, let it air dry and put on emu oil (serves as anti-bacteria, anti-inflammation and speeds up healing too). Now one thing i couldn't figure out was what to wear. Most of my shirts are tight fitting, so definitely a no no. I needed a halter top but most of my halter top is in the laundry. I thought a loose shirt would do but the idea of the shirt sticking on my back where my tattoo is scared me. So finally i went through my wardrobe, found dozens of bikinis and voila! I'm wearing a bikini top on right now and a surfer's short. I look like i'm heading out to the beach when i'm just gonna stay in the house all day!

My husband had a cover up of his ugly tribal tattoo. The new ones are celtics I think. This is my very first tattoo so I'm being obsessed with taking good care of it. The artist told me that if I won't be careful the wound can get infected and worse, damage my tattoo and skin. That's something that I don't want to happen at all.

I have read emu oil can do better jobs. Normally a tattoo would be oozing with plasma but mine didn't because I used emu oil right after cleaning it. With emu oil they said it would reduce the peeling as well and the itchiness. It's antibacterial, anti inflammatory and non comedogenic and it seeps down to the seven layers of skin and circulated the oxygen for faster healing. I'm really satisfied with emu oil and my husband says it's really good as he didn't use this with his previous tattoos. Thanks for the recommendation.

oh i wouldn't worry too much. they just try to scare you really so that you can't come back and sue them, and claim they had dirty hands, or needles, or used bad ink etc. our skin usually heals really fast and quickly, and cuts don't generally leave a scar when we get them.. so try not to worry. the best thing i would suggest, is don't let anything rub it for atleast 3 days.. after that it will start to peel anyway so you should be fine. and the best thing for a tattoo? to make it heal in half the time? nappy rash cream, that you'd use on a babies bum when they have nappy rash? buy that! i swear to god, it'll heal in half the time and it'll take away the itch too!

Thanks for sharing and congrats on the new tat. Heck I can't wait till I get my first one still, which either will be paid by earnings online, or a jail tat. Muahahaha. So you have to watch your clothing after getting a tat? Kind of makes me worry seeing as I want large pieces on my arms, back, and even chest.

Well thank you for informing me about that. When I get my first I will do my best to take care of it, hence the name, body art. I understand about plasma due to my piercings though. Always thought it was funny you have plasma (the clear stuff) and blood (the red stuff).

Thanks. YOu know after getting a tattoo, your wound will ooze out plasma. It looks like blood and oil but not that much if you have a good tattoo artist. In my case there was no plasma at all. The ink on your skin will actually remain wet for a couple of days or even weeks if you don't apply something like emu oil on it. So if it's not dry yet, any clothing, even your bed sheets can stick on it and if it sticks hard, your wound will get worse if your remove the clothing and the tattoo will be marred. It would be very painful. I saw two people yesterday with marred tattoos because they were not careful with their clothing.

Hi Toni! You are looking awesome in the picture and tattoo also looks very appealing and attractive. However, you cannot just wear your bikini dresses all the time, is not it?

Tube dress or halter tops are the good options.

Not when I'm out of the house. I'll be wearing a tube dress then or a halter top. And silk dresses would do. Im wearing a silk nightgown and not a cotton one at night so my fresh tattoo wound won't stick on the clothes and damage my skin.

You look sizzling hot on that picture just as opposite with how you look with your avatar (you look so simple). You got high pain tolerance for you survived the pain of having a tattoo. I know someone who is so addicted with tattoo's.It all started with one tattoo and got 5 more now. Well, it depends on how you carry yourself. :)

If you have a bandage on the tattoo wearing any shirt would be fine, but if you don't want to have a bandage on it that seems fine if you are content with wearing a bikini top for the day :) I got a tattoo on my lower back while I in college and my professor seen it from under my first the day after and he smacked it to see if it still hurt XD

A bandage is not good. It would suppress the wound and won't allow your skin to breathe. I have added flower to that tattoo and have two more on my nape and right hip.

you're ready for summer.. (sad it's rainy season now...) Anyways, you look different in different angles.. Anyways, I wonder why you get a tattoo... honestly. But it seems you're having a little trouble and fun managing it to not get scratched whatsoever.. :D

I have answered that question already in other discussions. I enjoy this little trouble so I don't mind at all. The overwhelming happiness of finally having my first tattoo is so much more than the little trouble it would cause.

my tattoo - henna tattoo of mine :)
hello toni, I love tattoos but unfortunately I can't have a real one So I am happy with henna tattoo You are brave huh I know how much pain you need to go through with it even there is anesthesia but the thinking of how painful it can be you need guts happy mylotting

Thanks. The truth is having a facial is more painful than getting a tattoo. In fact I was smiling and chatting with everybody who was present while the artist was doing my back. Labor pain is much more painful. I didn't have anesthesia during the tattoo because I researched about it and learned it's not good to have anesthesia at all.

Haha nice outfit. I love bikinis and surfer's short, well because I think in my past life I was a mermaid hehe. Nice tattoo, brave soul. Does it hurt? And what does the tattoo signify? I've read that when someone gets a tattoo there's something that happened to him/her that they don't want to forget or it could be something special.

Me too! I have a collection of bikinis actually and now that it's rainy season i still find them useful due to my tattoo. Now here's the reason of why i got a hummingbird tattoo. Hummingbird is a symbol for accomplishing that which seems impossible. Hummingbird will teach you how to find the miracle of joyful living from your own life circumstances. It tells so much of who i am and what i want to accomplish in life.

Ingenious solution to the problem! :) So this is your first tattoo? I have three and I remember getting my first one like it was yesterday. Of course I had to get mine on my foot first, which is notorious for being one of the most painful spots on the body, so I'm really surprised I even have more. Congrats! Just wait, they're gonna really addictive.
