i have read several articles that children that are born when mothers are at their adolescence and young adulthood stage would more likely to have children that have psychological disorders.. accordingly, studies have said that other than alcoholic drinks and smoking, babies at the early age pregnancy would likely to grow having mental retardation, mood disorders and learning disorders. For me, i believe that the studies made are correct.. I have met people that were born at the early stages of their mother's lives that have these disorders. most of them don't know how to handle stress and even problems that they have nervous breakdowns. also, since, the womb of the mother matures at the age of 25, which is the ideal age of conception, children that are born before this age may not be well developed in terms of emotional and mental aspects. What do you think about it?

I think that it is much more likely that children of immature and insecure parents will themselves have problems in later life. I don't think that there is any physiological reason that children of young parents will be less likely to cope with life or more likely to have psychological disorders. I believe that what you describe is a matter of parenting rather than anything to do with 'the womb not being ready'. Women can bear children as soon as their bodies start producing eggs and this is quite normal and natural. It is also quite normal and natural that some more 'advanced' societies prohibit or discourage childbirth before a certain age but this is because such societies recognise that a well-balanced person cannot usually come from a union which is, itself, insecure.

Mere statistics will not show this, of course. They can only show that children of immature mothers are more likely to be immature and unbalanced themselves.

maybe you are right.. it is more on parenting.. but how could you explain mental retardation? it is there as the child was born.. it was only found out as the kid grows old and its mental development is slow and doesn't even develop like any other normal children.. mood disorders can be controlled though good parenting but children with mental retardation needs very good parenting because they are special..

I always heard from reading and talking to my obgyn that it is when you get older that you have the most problems. A woman is ready to have kids as early as 13 and have no problems with the child. Now is she ready emotionally, no I do not think so. I know that my mom had kids till she was almost 50 and the last two out of 8 were sick in comparison to us. They have a lot of medical issues that the older ones of us did not have.
