why is it when you want something? it's not there?

well, as you are probably aware, i went food shopping last night.. and it took me an hour.
AN HOUR.. just to go food shopping, AND i had a list!! .. so all i'd to do was get everything on my list, and a few other things. right? WRONG!
i don't know if it's the end of the world, and no one has told me, or whether grocery stores no longer operate after a monday, but this place was empty. it's one of the biggest food stores in northern ireland, and it has food, toiltries, even sells dvds, games, books, kids toys, even clothes.. and it had nothing.
it's like someone, somewhere, decided the world was short on chicken, and they had to buy every single packet of chicken they could physically get their hands on and freeze it, obviously in some underground freezer compartment to hold it all!!
and mushrooms? what are we short now? or are they considered class A's and people are running in to buy them to get a fix? i've heard of magic mushrooms but that would be ridiculous.. there was like 4 boxes of mushrooms in the entire shop.. and they were manky and minging and obviously left behind due to their hidieous appearance! although judging by how everything else mushroom related was missing, i'm still in shock they WERE left behind!
and don't even get me started on the bread section! the bread section is two aisle's long, facing each other. i'm 5 foot 1 inch and it's length is about 5 of me laid top to toe, and it was practically empty!! so clearly bakerys are closing down all over the place and we haven't been informed!
do you not just hate it when you go to get things, and you can't?

Weird, but they had also some problems with supplies in my usual store yesterday : my favorite cheese was not there, my favorite bread was not there, and even my junk frozen pizzas ! I am a bit bewildered and angry in this case. I finished my shopping in another store, but their bread is not very good...

lol!! thats so bizzare that both of us went shopping yesterday, me in the uk, and you i assume in america? and we were both missing a lot of bread in our shops!
there is obviously a bakery closing epidemic and we have failed to have been notified! lol!

I am in France, and as a lot of people in holidays were expected on the roads last weekend, trucks were not allowed since Saturday. Stores are working with very low stocks, and I think it is the explanation. We have less and less bakeries due to European laws, and good French bread is more rare than 20 years ago : more industries and less craftsmen.@chicksdigscars (5483)

Yes! Especially when all day I have been looking forward to a certain meal at dinner. I especially hate it when the store decides to not carry that brand anymore! I shop at walmart mostly because they pricematch other stores. Anyway awhile back they decided to "upgrade" their store. They switched everything around which was real annoying. Then they stopped carrying a bunch of brands.
I also hate grocery shopping because some people just decide to let their kids run all over the place. I'm trying to dodge kids running in front of my buggy! I know this is mean, but sometimes I just want to "tap" the kids with my buggy instead of stopping. Not hard just a lil so they learn not to be running around like lil zoo animals! Oh, and another thing I hate, when 2 people decide to block an aisle because they want to chit chat. Their having a whole conversation like their long list buddies. Come on! Exchange numbers and talk later! Be considerate of other people please! Haha. Grocery shopping is so stressful! Lol!

oh my god. right this is too weird. we are actually long lost twins, we have so much i common, that depending on who is older, i'm worried that you may be trying to steal my identity! lol.
i hate people who let their kids run riot. i don't EVER remember being like that as a child. if i'd ever kicked and screamed and ran round and pulled things off shelves the way some children do, my mummy or daddy would have gave me a swift slap round the back of the head and put me in the trolley! lol!
do you mean buggy as in baby buggy? or is that what you call a shopping trolley/cart?
it is a shopping trolley/cart.. just hit them with it, it'll do them no harm lol!
if you are talking about a baby buggy.. thats also a slight peeve of mine. people who think just because they have a baby in a pram they can just plow through other shoppers like they aren't there, as if having gave birth to a baby and having the ability to push said baby about makes them god! lol.. and i totally get you about the chit chatting thing! i have on many on occasion said this to people

No I meant shopping trolley. Lol. Trolley sounds so funny! I love how other countries have diffrent words! I get bored hearing the same old words all the time! I would never bring my baby buggy shopping! I hate when people do that! My buggy is for hiking, fleamarkets and stuff like that. And if it's a small flea market I use my small buggy so I don't get in peoples way.
Oh and I think I am older! I'm 27. I tried to upload my profile pic yesterday but my laptop was being stupid at the wifi spot. I was so mad because I feel like such a creeper without a profile pic! Lol I wish I could just upload via my phone!

I really dislike shopping, especially grocery shopping, so when I can't find what I need/want, then it really makes me angry, especially since it mostly means that I will have to either make a trip to another store to try to find it or come back to the same store later in the week and hope that they have restocked before I return.
It is strange that all things mushroom related were low or out of stock when you went shopping. I wonder if maybe they had a secret meeting of the mushroom committee that organized a "mushroom recipe" event that nobody outside the committee was aware of or something.

well if that IS the case and thats what happened, then i am really angry because i love mushrooms and i wish i had of been apart of this secret mushroom meeting haha!!
