When you see someone handing out flyers, take the flyer

Oftentimes I see this scenario, someone handing out flyers while people walk on by ignoring that person. That person is doing his/ her job which is to specifically hand out flyers in the hope of getting you to have interest in a service or product. That person's job is to hand out as many flyers as they can in a certain amount of time. When you ignore them you actually prolong their stay in that spot. And it's tough if that spot is under a hot spot or a smoky spot. So people, have a heart, take the flyer so that they can go off into the shade or at least rest a bit and sit somewhere. You can do whatever you want with the flyer. And you just might learn something new from the flyer itself.

I always take the flyer whenever someone offers it to me. The very reason why? It is because I have experienced a part time job that involves handing out flyers. I know how hard it is and sometimes hurtful and a bit annoying if someone frowns on you or when someone ignores you. If you don't want the flyer then it won't be hard to smile and say no. If you don't want to smile then at least politely say no.

I always see people handing out flyers in the city when I go out with my friends. My friends would simply dodge them like the plague but I tend to take the flyer. They're people who volunteered to hand out flyers and they're giving up their spare time to help out a service or organization, especially a charity. It's nice when you take a flyer. It puts a smile on the person's face, even if they're not showing it.

hi chip esterkhan yes you are so right as htat person is just trying to make a living too. I took a flyer once and found the mose inexpensive and well run rug cleaning business, just a small business but their rates were great and they really did an excellent job. when myhusband and I ran a gardening and landscaping service we handed out flyers and were surprised enough people responded to the flyers to get our business going full tilt. this feies at the time. I am now widowed.this was many years back.

I see them when I am at the mall or someplace downtown. I am always too curious not to take one. I think the ones who walk on are rude. They can always through away the pamphlet if they don't want it or even go the website usually listed on it and them your peice of mind. I love doing that if I don't agree. hehehe

Whenever I pass by a person handing out flyers,I take those flyers, even if I'm almost sure there will be nothing interesting for me to find in them, but as you mentioned, that person has to do that job and I was in that position one day and I realized what it's like to do it,you just want to finish it as fast as possible,it's not very pleasant to be in the street and hand out flyers. After all,it doesn't cost me anything to take that flyer and it might have something interesting,so I guess the normal attitude is to accept them.

i always accept a flyer when someone offers it to me, but i don't go up to the person to take one, unless i actually want it. sometimes i walk past people trying to hand out flyers to specific people, they seem to target a certain type of person, and often they seem to always be refused. and then i walk past and they don't offer me one, when i would have taken one. giving them out is quite a skilled thing really, as you have to read the people who come towards you, and see which ones will blank you and which ones will respond, and some people are better at it than others. i used to give out leaflets for a political party, but i have never done it as a job!

i worked for a video store before and i handed out flyers just to attract new members. i' ve never forgotten the feeling i got when someone took one of my flyers and asked me what it was about. i backed the product 100% and me and my buddy jamuls were able to surpass the initial membership requirement of a hundred heads just by being humble and honest enough to back up our products. people who hand out these flyers are persons who are doing a decent living. at least they're not out there robbing people. so please have a heart. take the flyer

Absolutely! We never knew we might find something that may change our life from those flyer/s Not to mention the effort exerted by those people standing distributing those papers. Thanks that you always get those papers handed to you. Not everyone has same thinking like yours, some people even give a look like saying "what's that?" (with matching raising of the eyebrow) have a good day jaiho®

People who hand out flyers mostly work in a hourly basis, so the longer they're handing out flyers the more they can earn, and I say this because I have had that kind of work when I was a student. Of course, that doesn't mean they can leaf around. In my country to find a trash bin is almost impossible in the street, so I don't really feel like taking a flyer I'm not interested in and that will be bothering me as I have nowhere to throw it away, so it's harder for people who hand out flyers here, as most of people think that way.

I usually accept fliers but when I A have read it and I know I can't join or participate in what is written there, I just say no but with a friendly smile. I like receiving about products cause I learn from them and I get ideas that help in in our small business. Sometimes it hurts or irritate me whenever there are some people who give out fliers but they choose who to give. There are some who don't give to people who look ordinary cause they feel that we/they don't have the money so why waste their material...

You are correct. I normally accept the flyers not just because I might find something that will interest me but also because I know that it will make them happy being able to finish their job soon. What is not good is that if they cheat when some of them give more than one flyer.

I believe there are on few people, who reject to take the flier, They might have their personal reasons to reject. I take the flyers whenever some one gives it to me, some times I get good offers due to these flyers.

When someone is handing out flyers on me I am accepting it because this is their job and it will not harm you if you're going to accept this, and I agree with you chipesterkhan that they are only doing this as their own task. I felt that my heart is being squeezed when somebody is not willing to accept the flyers and ignore those flyer person.... Guys, have pity on them because they also wanted to dispatch their flyers as much as they wanted and as early as they wanted to so that they cannot stay longer at the heat of the sun. Anyway, you can decide what to do on that flyer in awhile.

You are very nice and kind-hearted. Handing out flyers in the outdoor is a very hard job. Most of the time, I will take the flyer when someone hand it to me. But sometimes, it is very annoying when they want to persuade you to consuming in their shops immediately.

that's a scam if they push you to buy something especially if they ask for your credit card info. i've seen those in malls especially top floor of sm megamall and ground floor of robinsons. run away from them fast

i do get. my wife used to work at a company who sends out people to give out flyers and they have to finish that tons of copy a day. so she told me that when someone is handing me flyer, there is no harm if i will get it. so everytime someone hands out flyer to me i get it and more than welcome. for sometimes when i am stuck in traffic or waiting for someone, reading those flyers can really kill time. it keeps me company.

If the person is doing a good job and makes it easy for me, I'll take it, but I won't take even one step out of my way to get the flyer unless I know what it is and I want it.

I always take the flyers specially in the mall. Specially if the flyer is food related or about house projects. I definitely read it since I'm really interested on getting a new house and of course, food discounts.

When I read your discussion at the begininig I was couldn't understand, so I make an investigation to see what as a flyer, now I understand, and I feel the same, I know is very hard that kind of job, sometimes they to be standing up for hours under the hot sun, sometimes they have too much to do, and I know the payment is not good, so we are right when we help them o do their job,and nobody knows maybe we can find a good sale.

yea... just out of respect you should take a flyer just to see what's on it... i mean that is his job and we all have jobs we probably don't like... so the next time that happens... just take the flyer and look at it

I always take the flyer. It makes both parties feel good (me for taking it and knowing they feel better having shared their message). HONESTLY there really isn't any harm in READING the flyer either. I once received a flyer for a techno DJ i loved and didn't even realize he was in town until i took a flyer someone gave me and read it!
