Whenever i receive my income for the month, i usually keep them in the bank and just get a few extras to spend on other things that i need. So when i almost don't have a few bucks left in my wallet i call myself broke. So i was about to declare to my husband that i'm broke when my brother called and told me that our Uncle (the administrator of our grandma's property) declared dividends yesterday and he's sending me the money! Didn't expect that for this month so i'm just glad that i don't have to be broke! But i won't be spending the money as well. I'm frugal!

hi toni. count me in as one of the frugal people here in mylot. lol! anyway, i do the same when i get my salary, i withdraw everything and transfer the amount i want to save in my personal savings account and then keep whatever amount i need to pay for my bills and everyday expenses. any excess from what i keep for my expenses i stash away as additional savings. additionally, i also make sure that i look for ways to continue to save some more. good for you to get an unexpected sum of money. it really is a pleasant surprise when that happens. hopefully, it happens to all of us more often.

Hi tony! It means you are going to get unexpected windfall. Hope it reaches you sooner than later. My advice is – don’t feel hesitant to spend the amount on you because it is meant for spending, either today or tomorrow. Had I received this kind of bonus, I would have spend it immediately on receipt.

It has arrived already Dee. I don't want to spend it at all. I still have extra money on my wallet and i want to keep it in the bank for awhile. I'm saving up for something and i'll have my income coming again next week so i'm good without spending it.

But i won't be spending the money as well. That is good for me. Now that you have decided not to spend that money, give that money to me... I loved the word "frugal" not sure how and where will I be using it but I will

Hello Sid! Not spending the money means it will go to the bank! But now that you have asked for it, i'll consider giving you that but i'm sure my husband would doubt our friendship and would think you are my paramour ! So for you not to be killed by my husband, it's better to keep the money in a safe place: the bank! Have a nice day!

I like unexpected money! Just this week I thought I already had cashed out my money in my ATM. And to my surprise, I still have Php10k on it. We used it to pay for our house amortization.

LOL! I don't like touching my money in the bank except those in the cash card. Once i get money deposited in the bank i let it stay there as part of my savings.
4 Aug 11
haha it's best to be careful with your money, although what my partner and i do, is when we get an extra amount of money that we weren't expecting.. we usually spend it on someone great and nice for ourselves, that we wouldn't normally have been able to get because we had to budget :)

I"m really frugal. Whenever i receive money, i can't seem to spend it at all! It's like i would rather see them grow in the bank than disappear into thin air!

That dividend is on a regular basis. It's for my shares of stock in the family company owned by my late grandmother.

even how much frugal living i want to be, i still could not even leave something in the bank to save. i am glad you do it and there is someone, at least someone who will be there for you when you are broke. i am broke, everytime, even during paydays because everything i will earn with this job are already reserved for paying the bills, rent, and the needs of the entire family.

If you happen to be a family member then you'll surely get one. But it seems that you have a different family name so sorry no can do! Though it really wasn't a surprise because dividends are declared on a regular basis, but just didn't know he would on that day or maybe i have forgotten.

hi, its really hard to move and live without money in our side,so to save money i have to be frugal, after i receive my salary i automatically save it to my saving bank so that when i need money i know i could have it and anytime i can withdraw it.its better to be frugal than to be a very expensive person.

Usually when i'm say that i'm almost broke, it's only my wallet that is running empty and not my bank account. When i touch my bank account, it means there's a serious problem already. I always try to save my money in the bank and i never touch it at all as i'm saving them up for emergency use.

It feels nice when that happens doesn't it?? I aso put some money in my purse and call myself broke when I'm running out of it. And that's when I go to the bank and take out some again. But last this week when my purse was almost empty, I had some relative m=give me some money coz we had a family thingy here. It's just something they do coz we are still kids and the youngest of the family I was so glad coz I wasn't really thinking they'd hehe!!

How lucky you are to have an unexpected wealth, Toni! Pahingi nga ! In our desire to be able to save, once we have kept our money at the bank, we make it a point that we never get to withdraw them anymore , so it could accumulate and gets bigger. In my desire sometimes, not to ever withdraw money anymore and just stay within my allowance or when i'm nearly broke , i would bring some biscuits , packets of powdered juice and most of all bring to the office some left-overs from dinner the night before. Though it's a bit of sacrifice, i know that i will reap the reward someday when my savings have accumulated. Just like you, i am frugal too. Kuripot ika nga?

I completely understand where you are coming from. As of right now I'm completely broke. lol That's why I'm on Mylot right now. It is amazing how fast the month goes and the money as well. I'm glad that your uncle is sending you money. Surprises like that are always nice when they come. Yes and it is a great thing to be frugal with the resources we have. This month I didn't do so well with that because I wanted to get some new outfits and buy things I haven't in awhile. It was alright as I'm not able to do things like this often, but it has lead me to be tight on money until the next check comes. I will be happy when it gets here.

I've been a spendthrift this month actually. I bought a pair of fitflops which cost me $90, i bought my husband and my son a pair of crocs too which amounted to $90 i think as well. And they were not on my list at all! So the money that i'll be receiving will do directly to the bank!
