I have problem with flying by plane too. My stomach is turn upside down and I really feel sick after that.If I can travel without flying I do it. If I really have to use a plane I really suffer. I can understand you :).

The pilots and flight crews are among the most highly trained professionals, the planes well maintained, and the planes, to the extent possible, are always kept in sight of the control towers. No chances are being taken for every flight, especially international ones. This makes jet travel the safest mode of travel in fact. So I ride a plane with confidence. I prefer riding a propeller plane because I can see the landscape below. But if I'm not in a rush, I enjoy train and ship rides more, when these are available.

I think that the more you fly, the less and less the fear becomes. All it is, is the fear of the unknown. On why a plane jerks this way or that. I'm sure that the next time you fly it wouldn't be too bad. I used to work in Asia, and I have flown back and forth several times. For me, the problem is not fear, but the boredom throughout the flight as I could never sleep. Welcome to myLot!

Hello!I think people's mentality is important,so,the only thing to do is relax, calmly to feel.In this way,all the discomfort will reduce or even no. Ha ha,blessing flight!

You will get used in flying if you will do that more often, I think flying is nice, just seeing the land while you were out there flying is just feels good to me, and if I can fly a lot more often then I'll be thankful. I'm sure in time you will love flying too, just going to other countries is just great, just try to enjoy yourself when you are up there and don't try to think of some scary things that will happen.

Just don't think about it, distract yourself by reading a good book, sleeping or eating. What I usually do is I sleep through the whole thing. Once I wake up, I am on my destination already, if something does happen (Knock on wood), at least I am sleeping and I won't be able to feel it. lol

I was 14 years old when I took my first plane journey. I was with my mom and we traveled from London to Athens. It was a trip of 3 and a half hours. I liked seeing the landscape on take off and landing. I had very bad ear pain going down from the pressure. It was 10 years before I could fly without ear pain. On my plane ride from London to Mombasa I was given a pair of ear plugs. I traveled by air around the world when I was 20 to 21 years old. Travel is my favorite hobby and I have to be able to fly. It is a shame you are scared of flying but I totally understand.

verolop29, From what you've experienced, I can assure you that it will get better with time and repeated flying. Just don't go about scaring yourself with unnecessary and wild thoughts or stories. There are many things you can actually enjoy when you opt to fly where for one, you will be enjoying quite a lot of duty free shopping which could offer you many branded perfumes, fashion wear and fashion accessories. Also, if you are flying on full fare airlines, I am sure you will be enjoying the best inflight service and entertainment could offer. So, just sit back and relax. From my experience, I feel our state of mind is the most important factor before we take a trip and as such one should be well rested and mentally prepared for the trip. It would also help if you could avoid any form of oily and spicy food before the flight, try not to eat till you feel like your belly is pushing your blouse buttons. Besides, there will be meals onboard when your flight is more than 45 minutes in duration. Hope this few pointers will be of help on your return flight. Take care.

I really don't like flying at all honestly. Some people like it but maybe if one is in a helicopter it would be different or a small airplane. I rode American Airlines on I always have problems with pressure and pain in my ears. I know its going to happen almost right away because of the popping. Anyway that is just me lol. Oh and I definately hate the seats. To small and cramped.

I had been into some 10 -12 hrs flights, they are just exhaustive and quite boring, There is very bad leg space in airplanes in economy class. These are just not comfortable for long travels. For domestic travel I prefer and enjoy trains, wherever it is available , for International travel we don't have any option.

Ive never got on plane. But I have doing zip line. I have fear of heights. at first I was hesitant but then I decided to go. I just told myself, why not take advantage of the situation. I went there for free and I just paid for the ride. And so I did the zip line. We were flying above the cliff. I wanna faint right then and there. You know, It's good that we sometimes face our fear so we can fight it.
