Everyone knows the facebook is the most popular social networking site. I read yesterday in the news paper The 12th and recent President of India Pratibha Tai Patil is also join facebook with green sari you can see her by this link.

The US President Barack Obama also is on facebook and he was the first President to join facebook and they join this social media site to sending the economic message among the peoples and Pratibhtai Patil is a second President who join this famous social site. You can also click on add as a friend for adding him as a friend.

Really both are great person and this is good steps to join facebook and share their thoughts in the public by this way. What you think really nice idea.

surekha :Thanks for the posting. However i try to maintain contact with people of our level. However if we can read the message of VIPs it is fine. It is a good idea to post their views online. They do not have time to breathe even and where is the time for facebook. best wishes

First of all everybody is human and due to some politics and influences, they are presidents, but they are eating food and does have clothes & goes to toilet etc.,

elshaddai-- I agree with you they are also human. It is nice of them to come down to our level and post in forums like this-- that is what is being highlighted now. Instead of staying away from the masses --poor people, middle class people and rich people--they try to share their ideas and that is what is being appreciated here.
Birth itself - there is no equality -- at this moment a child is born in a rich family in a country and at the same time another child is born in a under developed country in a very poor family.
that is life. we have to accept that and from there go about. The leaders are good and nice because they are able to influence crores of people. Whereas in a normal home situations a father cannot impress his son or daughter also.

The world today, especially in terms of social networking is a much different world than what we lived in just a few years ago. For that reason alone, it makes a lot of sense that more of our elected officials are members of social networking communities. With that said, I won't be adding them as my friend because I choose to keep most of my facebook friends as people that I either know in person or have corresponded with at length online.

Oh yes my dear sweet friend!
Many people including political people are taking advantage of technology more so these days. They realize that millions of people use the net as a means of communication so it is there way of spreading the word of their happenings and or using it for their means of campaigning, is my thought.
They are smart to go with the trends as many today are on Facebook for countless hours.

our philippine president noynoy aquino is also on facebook. but we cannot tell if they are real person. i mean, we cannot tell if Pratibha or Obama or Aquino actually read, maintain, post updates to their accounts.
