Church inside the Mall

I've been attending this church, Victory Christian fellowship here in the Philippines for about 2 years now. I have come across them from an officemate. One thing that really stuck me was their location, its inside the mall. Yes folks, inside the mall, 4th Floor of Robinsons Galleria Ortigas. I have attended Catholic masses inside the mall, but a church inside the mall? We have Friday services for the youth 7pm, Saturday and Sunday service from 8am to 8pm. Now we have a Tuesday service at 7pm. At first it was awkward going to a church inside a mall, but it is where I have started to know Christ better. They are a full gospel church and they have very good pastors. The pastors are just like regular people, very friendly, very down to earth, with very good sense of humors and they don't have this superiority complex being in authority. You can approach them anytime, ask for prayers, healing etc. One thing more is that my relationship with God now is on the personal level. Now I go to church because I want to know more of God, and not because my friends are there or the pastor is a good speaker. I go to church now because of God.

From your discussion, I guess it is a wonderful experience that you already have God as your friend and He's on top of all your priorities. I also want to experience that. I had started bible studies with some friends and I enjoyed it as I want to know more of Him. In my religion, we don't have bible studies or maybe I just don't know if there are bible studies in our church. I have not experienced it for the duration of my being a church member.

I believe if you are religious enough, you wouldn't be mind to go for prayers regardless where it is. I have even seen a "Surau" which is a place for Muslim to pray inside the Zoo. When I first saw it, I was so surprised why the "Surau" is inside the Zoo, but I think that is for the convenience of Muslim visitor, where they do not need to go out of the zoo for prayers. That is a really good idea.

Reminds me of my early experiences as a new Christian. If it hadn't been for a local church renting the top floor of a mall near the college campus I attended, I probably wouldn't have grown in my faith. I still thank & praise God for them to this day! I joined that church later when it moved to a new & permanent location. Your description of the pastors matches my own, though I wish I'd spent more time fellowshipping with them then. Regarding the site, isn't it wonderful they were so accessible? You know, even depressed people shop; what better way to reach them than this? After all, Christianity wasn't meant to be a 1-day-a-week experience, but a lifestyle. It's perfectly okay, even necessary in my opinion, to have church there. And after meetings, the mall gets more customers, too.

It is good to hear that you want to know more about God. I'm also attending Victory church in Robinsons Metro East. I love the praise and worship session since I was able to sing praise songs. I also love the pastor's teaching. Everything on earth is temporary so I want to spend my time sharing the Christ even in a small way.

Church are the people having the Eucharist. Church inside the mall is indeed a very good idea because now a days time are limit especially so for people employed. After going to the mass with your family you have the bonding moment or shopping, having a grocery:all in one! I very much like it!
