Hello everyone. I just want only to share this beautiful story about the lizard. When I was reading some discussions made by a member in other forum, I found this very interesting topic that really touched my heart. I was really amazed and impressed by the story because of the great and unconditional love involved. Hope you like it. To GOD be the Glory! This is a true story that happened in Japan. In order to renovate the house, someone in Japan tears open the wall. Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls. When tearing down the walls, he found that there was a lizard stuck there because a nail from outside hammered into one of its feet. He sees this, felt pity for it, and at the same time curious, as when he checked the nail, it was nailed 10 years ago when the house was first built. What happened? The lizard has survived in such a position for 10 years! In a dark wall partition for 10 years without moving, it is impossible and mind boggling. Then he wondered how this lizard survived for 10 years without moving a single step - since its foot was nailed! So he stopped his work and observed the lizard, what it has been doing, and what and how it has been eating. Later, not knowing from where it came from, another lizard appeared with food in its mouth. Ahh! He was stunned and touched deeply. For the lizard that was stuck by nail, another lizard has been feeding it for the past 10 years. Such love, such a beautiful love! Such love happened even with this tiny creature. What can love do? It can do wonders! Love can do miracles! Imagine? It has been doing that untiringly for 10 long years, without giving up hope on its partner. Imagine what a small creature can do that a creature blessed with a brilliant mind can't. Source: http://www.loversquotes.com/RomanticStories3.htm

I knew even animal have their sense of care and love in their own way. That's one reason why I appreciate animated animals made as movie characters although humane when they talk. But this?! Lizards. Not even mammals. I got goosebumps; honestly, the lizards acted as though they got this human brain and heart. Some humans would even act brainless and heartless than they are. Such a wonderful story indeed. It could be unreal and just made up. But we never know, most rumors always have truths in them. It's always the lessons we get from these stories that rocks! Enduring kind of love despite a partners disability. God bless!

Hello Gea, it is good to see you again here. Me too, I am astonished and amazed when I read this story. You are right, it is always the lessons we get from the stories. The story tells us that if animals can display compassion and unconditional love, what more us people who were designed to have a higher brain capacity with strong emotions and feelings. Take care always Gea and May GOD's love and protection be with you always!

That is such a sweet story. Who knew lizards are social creatures that way? I thought they are just individual creatures who exist in groups, interacting with each other but not the lover type. I'm just curious, what happened after? Did the man let the lizard go? Did the lizard run away, or waited for his partner?

Yes, it is a very sweet story. I cannot believe that certain animals do have a very loving heart, faithfulness and great compassion. Although I have seen some animals like the chicken, birds, pigs etc., that are protecting and displaying love for their babies and the ants that are working hand-in-hand together, but seeing this kind of lizard showing great and unconditional love and untiring compassion to its partner is something that one would really admire and appreciate. I am also curious about what had happened afterwards but I am very sure that he let the lizard go. I think it is time for the lizard to be free after 10 years of being stuck and nailed on the wall.

Yes. But I'm not sure what would happen. I have never known any lizard with this behavior. Penguins yes, but lizards no. Caring for the young is pretty common with most animals. It's the partnership kind of relationship that rare.
