I and some my friends had a picnic yesterday. We went to countryside. One of our friend invited us the meal with snake and hamster meat! Snake meat was finely minced, then fried with peppers and citronella. Hamster meat was marinated and fried ! I tried snake meat with a piece of baked roll. But I couldn't try hamster meat! I couldn't eat even they was very smell. I don't think that these kinds of meat are delicious. However, many people here are very like them.

Yuck and double yuck, no thanks. I wouldn't try either. I'd be afraid I'd be eating the venom of the snake.

tkonlinevn, I cannot help but stop to wonder how you people could think of such an exotic choice of menu for the picnic. I am sorry but wouldn't some salads, coleslaw, sandwiches, pizzas or some mixture of biscuits suffice? Snake and hamster? I am really at a lost for words here.

The sight of snake makes my flesh crawl and hamsters are so cute, I could not eat them. I know there are some people who like to eat exotic food but not me. A close friend of mine told me that she had eaten snake meat and it tasted good like chicken meat. But I really cannot imagine eating snake meat and hamsters. Give me anything edible but not snake meat and hamster meat.

I don't think I would have eaten the hamster either. To me hamsters are pets, and very adorable, I could never eat one. I have had rattle snake though. I actually had it in a restaurant in Colorado, they made a dip and put pieces of rattle snake meat in to the dip. The dip was really good, but likely masked the actual flavor of the snake, but it was pretty tasty.

I know few restaurant that serves exotic foods,so it means people go and eat there. I haven't tried anything like exotic foods. But snake and hamster is not worst compared to those ones featured with other country's cuisines like ..insects, chocolate coated worms, cockroaches, spiders and the likes. I don't think my stomach is too strong to try those. jaiho®

I have seen people eat exotic meats. My mom said she tried eating snake and frog meat when she was younger. I don't think I can stomach eating those foods, let alone chew on them. Most snakes are poisonous so I wouldn't try them. Hamsters on the other hand are pets and I wouldn't want to eat pets!

I hate snakes so eating one would totally be out of the question. I'm a little shocked to hear someone eats hamster meat. I mean after all exactly how much meat can you get off of one of those cute little things. Best Wishes!

Wow! Does snake meat taste like fish? I have seen how it look like- somehow like fish. I would not mind to taste one if I had an opportunity. Unfortunately, people are not allowed to eat snakes and most of them are very poisonous.

i am not a person who is adventurous regarding food. my wife is. she will try to taste anything that you want her to try. if she likes or love it she will get another serving if not then she will pass. but she will taste it. me i am too freaky to try anything that is not normal. har har har. i am not good with exploring regarding food. i get easily feel the feeling of throwing up. but i do admire people who have the guts to do it. i salute everyone who can.

I have never eaten snake, but last year I had the opportunity of eating a sort of hamster stew in Perú. I found it delicious. It was well done, very similar to rabbit´s meat but with more meat on the bones. I love to eat different food, although I don´t like all of them. But I think it´s important that I try them, before saying no beforehand.

For me, I hope not to be put in a situation where its all I can eat to survive.I know that some people consider them as exotic food and they are really expensive are are only available in few establishments. But really, I will never try them unless they are the only means for me to be alive.I am not saying against those who eats them, but this is my own impression regarding these kind of meats. (^_^)

A friend of mine who has eaten a snake meat said that they taste just like a chicken. It was said that it's because they eat chickens. I think, i could eat a snake meat, but not hamster meat. I could just imagine a hamster meat to be so soft.

Hi tkonlinevn! I have already gotten a taste for several exotic kinds of food and snake meat is one of them which I found the taste as interesting. Yeah it may sound gross for others but it is a delicacy in other places. Most of the time I give it a try to eat some kinds of food. I like trying out new kinds of foods because they are usually new to our taste. It's interesting and challenging as well.
