Hello Lotters, Actually, it's best if you don't repeat it again once the discussion has been deleted. in fact, we have to make sure that once our discussion has been deleted, we should realize that it's a violation and shouldn't repeat it. i had so many deleted discussions in the past, so many that my account was deleted. too many can get you out of mylot. I know this, because I had experience of this too. but probably not because the admin kept seeing but the lotters kept seeing me and kept me reporting to the point that the admin himself just deleted me. A for now, am doing my best to keep myself from violating the guidelines.. i hope my experience won't happen to any one elses. Have a nice day

Hi Letran! Was this with your old account that you were deleted? At any rate I don't start very many and you are right, anytime I do start one I have the guidelines mirrored in my mind because I want to make sure that I am following them. I have seen where admin says that if it is a continual pattern of violations that is when accounts get deleted. So yes I do try my hardest to make sure anytime of the few and far in between are usually withing the guidelines. lol

When you go and visit someone else at their home you surely behave yourself and respect their way of doing things so that they will invite you back again? It's the same here in myLot's home. There are things that we should not do if we wish to be allowed to stay and if we don't follow and respect them then we are shown the door. It is up to us to stay within the Terms and then we will be allowed to leave our mark on as many pages for as many years as myLot is still around. Our choice and it is up to us to keep our place here

Hello AuntD. even in our own homes when a person visit us we should always show our accommodation and best behavior to show what kind of environment are we living in. I have no problem with the terms and guidelines as they can be followed. i have made my choice a long time ago that i will improve myself to be better mylotter. have a nice day

Hi Letran, I didn't know you preivously, but you have mentioned it before. This reminds me of the one guy who kept spamming my friends posts. The only activity he did was to make a reply in every box with like 5 plus links and I reported him, only for his account to be deleted and then he'd start another account and do it all over again. This happened at least 4 times to where I was wondering if he'd ever quit.. Well, he obviously quit or mylot finally found a way to permanently get rid of him, but for a while there, I thought he was here for good...

Hi Pointless, the only word I can remember is "mail" so I have no idea what it was, but obviously he stopped and I am glad, he was getting really annoying..

Hello carmel, Spamming is a violation. I feel bad for what this person just did but of course we should always consider doing our best to help others. maybe they won't learn their lessons unless they loose their account. probably we all have to be careful with our post. have a nice day.

buddy, i don't see any reason why someone will re-post a deleted discussion. in the first place, it was deleted for a cause. and if he feels the discussion is good, he may ask for a reconsideration from the admin to restore the discussion. i too tried my best not to post a discussion which violates the guidelines.

you only mean that you have forgotten about the discussion, that you have posted something about it or you posted similar to what was deleted?
• Philippines

Hello Neildc, Actually there was a situation where i made a similar topic about it and then when it was deleted i realized that i've made similar topic months back with out knowing. I do follow the guidelines but recently, I've been more careful in making future discussions to make sure it's not similar to my past topics. Have a nice day

hi LK, I do believe that even how much you stay long here or how much you try not to violate the rules there are some incident that you did not notice that you violated it. Well we must be careful and don't get to emotional so we can avoid this violation/s. happy mylotting

if we could only read and understand the rules, we can minimize the chance of violating them and gets our posts deleted.

Hello catch, I don't want to get emotional but some times we can't help but rant about it. though we regret it later some topics are just couldn't avoid to be made. the last discussion on my old account was actually a rant. and a foul word probably forced others to report me and have me deleted. now am doing my best to keep my cool. have a nice day

It's good that you posted this Letran, because I have seen where people's discussions get deleted and they put them right back up to get deleted again... and I have seen where the poster says they are putting up again the same discussion that has been deleted... my question is WHY? Why would someone put up a deleted discussion when they know it will just get reported and deleted again? I guess they are just being defiant and just daring someone to report it... and they will report it as soon as they see it.

Hello Pointless-Questions, they never learn, sometimes it's just easy to put it up with. but we have an active admin who will do something to bring them down. well, I used to be like them, but despite of that i never think of mylot as scam but because it was my fault then. that's why i never go to other forum sites. have a nice day.

Hello steph, yeah, there's nothing wrong with it. if we have time to mylot then we have time to read the rules of this site. besides, it's not really that hard. have a nice day

Good reminder my friend. I’ve been through the deletion thing too ages ago. I learned my lessons and I’ve done okay since then. The idea of making mistakes is so we can learn from them otherwise it is a wasted experience. Thanks for reminding us all!

What kind of violation you did? I am not sure. I had missing points but i don't think that i violated the rules. They can delete your response when they delete discussion so maybe i lost points because of someone else! I don't think it was my fault but except bad words i don't know how i can violate the rules. I read somewhere that they can not give you credits if they don't like your answer but that's not fear!

Welcome to myLot! Take a few minutes to read here so that you will know what we can and cannot post here. You will also then know which topics to avoid so that you don't risk losing your responses. http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx

Hello samaire, I think it's better for you to read the guidelines provided by Aunt D. way you would realize as to why we should not violate the guidelines. Don't say bad words or foul words in mylot because that alone can give you trouble. if you don't like the discussion, just don't respond to it alright? have a nice day

I think i've read in one of the discussions of your past experience. Anyway i think there's only one discussion i've made that got deleted my entire mylot life, and i'm hoping not to violate the guidelines further. Once in awhile my response gets deleted too because i just cant' help making a comment on a discussion though they are obviously a violation. There is one member here that keeps on violating the guidelines with his discussion and since he was a newbie i actually sent him a pm since he's one of my mylot friends. He replied thanking me for the concern and saying that he would keep the guidelines but today he posted a discussion which is apparently a violation of the mylot guideline. I did my part already and he keeps doing the same thing again and again.

Hello Toni, that was an attitude of some one who really couldn't understand or doesn't care about the guidelines. parts of me lives that attitude still but now am more of an active follower than a rebel.I think reporting should be your resort instead of just giving this lotter a one time warning. because unless they face the wrath of the admin, they'd never learn. I know i did

I didn't give him a warning. I was giving him an advice because i told him i won't respond to his discussion if i know they'd get deleted. I thought he was gonna change coz he said he was gonna read the guidelines.

Hi LK I thought you had deleted your previous account. Yes it is true that if some discussion got delete it is violating the rule. May be not in our views but it is violating in admin view. So better we don't repeat the same mistakes again.

Hello akp100, It was the ADMIN who had me deleted after that horrible discussion that i made, i think it was strike three for me.not just in the admin's view but it was a hard violation at that. took me a while to start a new but you know, things are alot better now than ever. hope you don't experience what happened to me though. have a nice day

It's okay now, you're account is great, I mean you're GREAT! You're part of my escalation in here.. For almost 3 months of existence in here I haven't tried any of my discussion was deleted. I make sure I didn't violate one and I don't post discussions everyday..

Hello NurseClare, Hardworkinggurl knows it because she responded on those discussions before. the best thing to do is NOT TRY it because admin will delete you. if you have issues with mylot just notify the admin and not making a discussion and make sure that you remember post of yours that are deleted. it's good that you didn't have discussions deleted yet. have a nice day

Hi LK, what was your discussion about?Good thing that it is allowed to come back here in mylot even if they deleted a user. I will not make any issue here in mylot, all i do in here is coment in discussions and enjoy my day..

Yes this makes sense to me too. I have also seen discussions about people getting their balances wiped and accounts deactivated for repeatedly violating the mylot rules. I guess some people don't care about the rules in the mylot community or choose to disregard them anyway which doesn't benefit anyone in my opinion. I don't think it hard to stick to the guidelines at all as long as you know what they are as i think when i first started out my discussions weren't exactly regulation but you get used to it and learn what is and isn't allowed here quickly.

Hello don't picknose, The difference now compare before is that accounts can be restored when set into inactive by the admin, they really did made an improvement. because back then, suspension and deletion is just one word and i was unfortunate on my old account. right now, am just doing what i can as a mylotter to prevent it from happening again

thanks for sharing that experience to us Letran, I am aware of that too for we have been friends for many years now. i too had a few discussions deleted and even it made me sad i wont start any more discussion on that kind of matter or style. mylot has been kind enough to send notification and explaining their side why deletion has occured so might as well learn from that. lucky for us that now mylot are sending notification while before there are no notification you just find out that your discussion/s are deleted already.

Hello seventhbird, you're welcome buddy. I had some discussions deleted even this account, but such is happening very rarely these days. well, that is for discussions, that's why we have to be careful on the discussions that we need to respond and comment at. sometimes, some discussions are not worth the attention. have a nice day

Thankfully, I haven't had any discussions removed recently. Maybe because I don't start many discussions but no. It's not a good practice because if no one starts discussions, then what will others respond to? Ive had comments that were deleted though. Mostly because the discussion was deleted. I try to remember the nature of that topic and keep it in the not-to-talk-about-in-mylot section of my brain.

Hello Ddaguno, it's good to start discussions but make sure if it doesn't violate the guidelines. well, you have to be careful in terms of commenting or responding to discussions most specially if they're provocative or prone to alot of debate. there's no problem with debating but make sure yuo get out if it goes ugly.

That is the rule and non can go against it. I have always felt sad when my post is deleted, even though none of my started discussion has been deleted but mostly I find myself among the violators of Mylot rules. Its good that way, to make sure people like me are under control that my crazy mind won't go astray from the limit.

Hello waflay, I believe it's better to learn it from those who has faced punishment from the admin. Because I know i have faced punishment personally, and start over. if you listen to our mistakes and not to repeat them, you will become one of the respected mylotters here. just follow the guidelines and things will do well for you, ok. have a nice day

So we really should be careful in the discussions we make. Good thing I always try to check for any violations whenever I start a discussion. However, I don't usually start any discussion. Thanks for the information LetranKnight. How about the responses? Will I get deleted when I have many reported responses too? I usually got some responses deleted due to double posts and the discussion being deleted.
• Philippines
17 Aug 11
Hello agent, All of them will get deleted if they are violations, it doesn't matter if it's discussion, response or comment. what happened is that when a discussion is deleted because of violation, even if youre response if it's not a violation also gets deleted. so, make sure that you are careful with the dicussions that you're going to respond with. have a nice day
