I was going through some shopping websites and found that they offer great discounts especially the online bookstores. The maximum discount i have seen is 15 to 20% in stores but online bookstores are offering much better discounts and free shipping aswell. But i still have some doubts about shopping clothes and other stuff online. As i have been told by a friend that he got a branded watch by shopping online but when inspected it turned out to be fake.what can a person do other than complain to the website and who knows will they reply or not?Online shopping market are still evolving phase here in india. But in a way shopping online saves lots of time and also save money as you don't have to spend money on going to the mall (the money spent on gas in your car and parking ticket or taxi fare), secondly it saves the hassle of crowd and disappointment of finding the right thing but not getting it in your size. I can safely buy books but what about other stuff?

You really need to be cautious in buying online and to be sure about the authenticity of a product you need to buy it from a reputable online seller. You will know from feedbacks. I never buy from an online seller who doesn't have 100% positive feedback. That's the only way for me to be safe and assured of the authenticity of the things I buy. So far I've never been sent a fame item. I would know if they are!

Hi. aside from books you can also buy services thru group buying sites that offers very big discount. Up to 90%. I have tried that and bought a voucher for diamond peel and laser for hair removal. Before, It was not really my interest to go online but when I discovered these sites, I realized what a great savings I can have. Also, if you like going on a vacation but the budget is limited, you can also rely on these sites.

I have been shopping online for several years. I mainly do all of my shopping at Amazon.com. I shop for everything and it is very safe there.

I am adjusting to this online shopping caper and I am quite enjoying it! I’ve bought a few things from a leather case for my cell phone to a giant scratching post for my cats. Recently I purchased a veil for my daughter to wear on her Communion day next week. I have never had any problems or had to return anything but I haven’t bought clothes; I would imagine that buying apparel without trying it on first would be a little tough. All in all though online shopping is a convenient and cheap option.

So far, I have only bought online items that are not available in my place. I probably would not buy apparel online. Some clothes look cute when you look at them but hideous once worn so I like to fit them on first. I look at the seller's rating and credibility first before I buy anything. I only buy from those who are willing to communicate

Hi there, I have done online shopping for several times, I only shop for accesories or camera lenses but I never done shopping for apparels. I prefer buy clothes from offline shop because I can see the actual colors or even try the clothes so I can get clothes that suit my body. About shopping for branded item, I think most of branded shop has official website where you can purchase their product online so it is better to buy from official website to avoid buy fake brand. Always be careful to buy from stores that selling item a lot of cheaper than in normal store, you need to do investigation if it sounds too good to be true.

It is certainly up and coming industry. My problem is that I will only buy online of things I know what they are...like a book or CD/DVD etc. I won't buy clothes as I have to try them on first. THe problem being...if they don't fit, the I have to pay shipping AGAIN to send it back. I've already paid shipping, now pay it again...add both to the price and I haven't gotten a "deal"....could have paid less at a local store. Some are allowing to make a return of an online item at the local store, but not to common yet. I also want to know what I am buying. I want to feel it to see if the material is heavy or thin or the quality of the materials used. Often it is cute item, but smaller "for real"... yes they often give you measurements, but still, you think about it that size and buy it, but it comes just different enough that I am not happy with it...or the color wasn't exactly as shown. Things like that. YOu don't have to spend money on gas etc going to the mall, but you do have to still pay state sales tax AND SHIPPING. Some give free shipping if you buy $75 or more, but not...you pay shipping which is often on the high side...more than a gallon of gas that would have gotten you around to several stores for shopping. Online/local shoping both have their goods and bads. I mean if you know the size of the item and are happy with the price plus shipping...buy it online and then take the time to go do something else. But if you have to see it etc...go to the mall and get it and be done. Yes it takes more time, but you have exactly what you want. If you buy and return..you have gas and time to box it back up and get it to the PO. ANd then hope it makes it!

I think it depends on what product you are buying. I am not that into online shopping because I want to check the quality of the products I buy. If it is books you buy online, then it i fine I think. But for other things like apparels and other stuff, I guess you have to be careful and check if you are dealing with a good seller first.
