Yesterday, 24th August, I received a gift sent by a friend from Tirunelveli district of Tamilnadu, India by ‘speed post service’ of India postal department. This was sent for some special occasion in my life that comes on 19th of August. It was sent in advance, using ‘speed post service’, so that it reaches on 19th, but it didn’t. The gift was a beautiful, framed picture of Goddess ‘Mahalakshmi’, who is supposed to bless us with money. What gave me pain was, it was totally damaged, the frame was broken and the broken pieces produced enough scratches over the picture. This is due to rough handling by the persons of the India postal department. I feel sad. The private courier are little better though. What is the scene in your place? Do you use services of private couriers or postal department? Please share your valued opinion. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

No, I have never used a private courier. THey are expensive and I usually use either UPS or something like that. That would be our 'speed post service' here in the US. I haven't use the private courier and I don't even know if we have any such services in the city where I live.

Professor, sorry to hear that your country postal staffs didn't handle your gift with care. Usually, when i was to purchase fragile things, i prefer to request them to send it by private courier service. At least i know, the private courier service will handle it with care and arrive on time. Another thing is, always request the sender to pack well the fragile item. He can always pack it by putting into a parcel containing sponge like film or maybe wrap with a bubble film protector, to protect and prevent from easily get broken while in transit.

You are right friend Thanks for suggestion, infact i informed over phone to put corrugated cardboards, pieces of sponge etc inside, they act like shock absorbers and protect the contents Best of luck. Professor

Hi Professor, I always use the postal service and it's usually very good. Private couriers are very expensive and are used more by companies than by individuals. Blessings.

Hello Papa! Yes our couriers and or overnight deliveries are usually handled with care. But due to high fast demands and low employee in this type of services from time to time packages do get damaged. If so our service is responsible for the damage. Though it is an inconvenience and disappointing but it eventually gets compensated.

Im from tamilnadu. I feel sorry for those postal service from my state. Not only post service all the goverment services turned against peoples. They are not ready to serve people qualityly. I always use private couriers for postal services. Money cost more but they are safer than government.

When it comes to fragile things, i usually use the private couriers as i'm pretty sure the public Philpost cannot be trusted with these stuff. Private couriers would make sure that they arrive on time and safe. Sometimes they don't even accept fragile stuff that aren't packed well. So they would advice the sender to use a bubble film.
