Is there a quick way to add an interest on My Lot?

When I set up my profile, I didn't understand that interests were where you needed to start discussions from. Since I have over 500 interests set up from before I knew that, it's really hard to go through 500 icons until I find the one I want to start a discussion from. Also, there is a lot of duplication, since some subjects like computers, reading, cats, etc can appear as hobbies, life, work, and in other interest categories. I didn't know that when I started. For those of you who have been here longer, is there a way to see all the interests in your profile sorted by title in list form without the icons so you can easily find them to delete duplication or add to them? Or is there a way you can make a blank form appear where you can just search for the interest you want to start a discussion from? It takes a lot of time to randomly look at hundreds of icons so I can choose one. I'm sure I must be missing something.

Well, what I have found is that when you are posting back to a discussion you are then if you do not have that Interest chosen as one of yours, you have a chance to either add it or skip it. If you add it then it is one of your choices and if you skip it it will never be added. But you know what discussions are being started in your interest catagories by what is displayed up on top while you are either starting or posting back to a New discussion. So if you wanted to post back to all myLot discussions only one day all you need to do is open that catagory and find discussions that you are interested in responding back too. Hope this helps.

I used to add all to my interest so it will not appear anymore the next time I replied to the discussion. I think one of the interest I refused to add is parenting. because i'm not a parent yet. I don't really mind having too much interest. I do not find it disturbing. Besides, I don't normally go to category. I always check the top discussion and sometimes. I also reply to related topics.

You know, I am not aware of any easy way to do it. I seem to stick to the same interests most of the time. I actually went through at one time and removed a lot of my interests, especially if they duplicated some that were already in my list, because each time you answer a discussion you will automatically receive a prompt to join that interest, and I did it a few times. I try to make my interests generalized, life, extra money, health, pets, cooking, and it does okay then.

For the duplicates, you can always delete the one with less activity, because it means that not as many people use that. As for organizing them, nope, not yet,..I did contact them a while back asking if they can set it up for either us to organize our interests ourselves or at least put our interest in alphabetical order.. So, if you have over 500 interests,I suggest you remove some, because that is a lot..I can't remember how many I have, but I doubt it is near that number..

Having been on myLot for a while, i've come to the realisation that all the interests i added in the early days are pretty pointless. I respond to discussions mainly posted by my friends rather than searching by interest, and I tend to post my own discussions within just a few interests. So I could probably get by with just a few. But that doesn't answer your question! I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to that.

The only popular one which has the recent post you can view it in the top. However, it is a good idea to have a list of interested in your profile rather than images since it occupies a lot of interest. At time i realize my interests are so many but i contribute to only few. Thanks for reminding Bagard!!! Happy Mylotting :)
