here is my pet peeve for today, I can't get the package open. In today's high tech
world I wish companies would spend a little more time on making their products easy to access. Even if I love the product if I get enough frustration trying to open it I will not buy it again. Recloseable boxes that have one end with a tab on it so you can reclose it will often have that end glued so tightly closed that you cannot open it without ruining the tab. Cans with a tab that is so tight you have to take a knife to even get it started. And let us not forget cereal boxes, where you get the box open and then have to cut open the plastic package to reach the cereal, leaving the remaining cereal open to the air when stored back in the box. How about shrink wrap that is so tight you have to cut into the product to get it to release. I'm sure you can add many more to this list. So let's have a good laugh and hipe this is the worse thing we have to deal with today. USA has a hurricane on the east coast so we can't be to concerned about packaging

Oh I hate that cereal where you take alot of time to open it neatly and then the bag rips down the side and there you are..lol. There are a lot of tough packaging. It started with the child proof I guess, and that's understandable, but they must have thought it would be funny to have us adults fighting with everything too.

I have an idea . . . uh oh. Let's say that we put these demon packagers to work figuring out how to wrap and protect our homes from the elements when we have hurricanes and tornadoes and even earthquakes. Maybe they could help reduce the vulnerability of our lifestyle.

Since I have arthritis and my grip and hand mobility is somewhat impaired, I understand fully where you're coming from. I keep a thin rubber disc in a kitchen drawer to help me grasp jar tops. Scissor handy for those tough plastic covers on products. Some of those cereal bags are tougher than cardboard to tear; I keep some of them to use when breading meats and vegetables and even as freezer wrap.
My next-door neighbor is ten years older than me and even has trouble getting the plastic top off of ready-made pies. She calls me over at least twice a week to come and open some kind of food package for her.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the people in the hurricane's path. It has been downgraded but will still be packing winds and a lot of water. Stay safe out there.

I use my teeth to open sachet and chips.I'm glad that it is still complete now. Anyway, if you can't open a bottle, you can use rubber. A rubber band is enough. Roll it around the cap and twist it. Hola! It's now open.

That's a source of irritation for me, too. I found a device at the dollar store that they used to sell on TV for $9.95, it opens those hard plastic things--like those thing you buy that has plastic around it that is like concrete. It won't tear and I usually come close to damaging the goods before I free them from that crap! Well, I got the little opener for $1! So that irritation is out of my life! Now, if I just had the money to spare to buy something!
You're right, if that's the worst irritation I have today I am truly blessed. I hope Irene doesn't wreak too much destruction and that the storm doesn't take any lives.
