How do you take care of your eyes?

Online jobs require us to stay online for many hours and it gives a lot of work for our eyes to be looking at the screen for more that 14 hours. Looking at the screen for more than 12 hours causes headache and it may cause fatigue. It can cause our eyes to squint. Squinting then causes wrinkles. SO how do we care for our eyes if we can't prevent staring at the screen? We can rest our eyes every 20 to 30 minutes. We can look away from the screen and close it for a few minutes. Even a few minutes rest can help the eyes get rid of so much fatigue. The screen position should be below eye level to prevent or lessen back and neck pain. The distance of the screen from our eyes should also be 20 to 28 inches. It is also important to visit our eye doctor once or twice a year to have our eyes checked. I just did and told my doctor I am using the computer for many hours and I am afraid about the risks to my eyes. He gave me reading glasses to help protect my eyes from directly looking at the screen, and he gave me some of the advice I have written in here. HOw many hours do you stay in front of the computer in a day? What do you do to protect your eyes?

I try to give my eyes a break once in a while and get away from the computer. My eyes have gotten bad in the last couple of years. I have had perfect vision up until the last couple of years. I am sure being on the computer has something to do with that, plus I am in my mid 40's now. I now wear glasses when I watch TV and drive at night. I can't wear them when I use the computer though as it hurts my eyes too much. I eat carrots a few times a week at least too, as they are supposed to be good for eye health. I also sometimes use eye drops.
