Hi there fellow Mylotters.. Have you ever felt that you have had to watch the use of your language on Mylot *and I dont particularly mean the use of foul language*.. but have you ever felt that you have had to control the use of expression due to breaching the terms of Mylot use..? My best friend has been banned from Mylot for 3months..and we are not sure as to why.. and although I have posted on many occassions around this topic- I am having these posts deleted..its as though if a discussion is not approved by Mylot Regulators then they delete your post.. which is fair enough but I have found that there is another site does this.. Anyway.. please share your opions and experiences.. (",)

Durring the time I have "experienced" few deleted discussions. For most of them I realise instantly after see was deleted why that happen. Very few I had doubts and gone to guidelines .. only to find admins were right. So, no, I do not feel there is a limitation of freedom of speech here. In fact I sometime feel admins allow some critical subject to be here, despite they are "on the edge", and this way the community can regulate itself ... However, let's not forget the main issue: mylot site is a private space. As long as the private space's rules are available to be read, the universal bill of rights is not available here. I have no idea what was the subjects you say were deleted, but I know one thing for me and my usage: If I want to use street language or very sensible subjects, there are "free" forums for that ... such as, for example, "The Asylum. General discussion forum. All topics are fair game. Got something on your mind? This is where you voice your opinion."

I think it's a good thing that Mylots monitors the discussions. However, I do think some discussions that are delete really don't need to be. All we are doing is have realistic discussion on topic we choose to respond to. If you we don't like a discussion, just don't respond to it. I believe it's as easy as that. I would really be interested to know what caused your friend to be banned from Mylots. I think it seems a little drastic and did this person receive warnings first. Best Wishess!

Hi sswallace21.. I agree that its great they monitor the discussions dont get me wrong.. shows their is a level of proffessionalism and security within the site.. but I just cant understand why he got delted- I asked him, was you being rude, crude, disrespectful etc.. but he said no.. then I asked if he broke any regulations and again he said no.. and I really couldnt say whether he received any warnings.. I just find it strange.. (",)

hi vivamir if you all would learn the ru les then remember then and strive not to break them you would have no deletions at all. but so many refuse to read the directions as how to make discussion and mylot now does make sure we follow the rules. for several years they were lax but the rest of us were tired of losing our responses due to people who refuse to read the directions and just break rule after rule. information helps to save your earnings and our earnings too.I do not see any lack of freedom of speech here. some sites are never monitored and a lot of ugly stuff goes on but not on mylot. no learn the rules and you will not have deletions at all.

We are given the right to express anything here. I guess it falls on freedom of speech although this is a privately own website we are given this right. But it must be within their rules so if we violated their guidelines on posting then they have the right to delete it.Mylot have their own regulations to follow and upon joining we have agreed on that guidelines. So as long as we don't violate any we are safe.
