Today, I got a letter in the mail, it was from my credit union which I have banked with. They offer me a free accident insurance, which if I was in an accidental death, a beneficiary of my choice will receive $1,500. Which I need to sign the enclosed form in the letter. I just came to think of it as a scam, because I had heard so many people got scammed by submitting their information involuntarily. I grew some suspicion, what should I do about it? Should I sign it or ignore it?

I would go to the credit union if at all possible and ask them face to face about it to see if it is a scam or not. You would know if it is the truth or not.

My credit union does this too, only it is $2,500. If you are not sure about the legitimacy of the Ins., then get in touch with your credit union and make sure that this is a bonafide company. And then get in touch with the Ins. company and make sure that they are legitimate. If all is Kosher...go for it. Most credit unions have this service. The longer you are with them, the more the ins. is worth.
