Paypal has introduced a scheme to cover certain situations that arise. You must have used paypal for purchase of item. Your country should have been covered under the scheme. The scheme is there in countries where you are permitted to buy using paypal. This is the link for that new scheme: https://www.paypal-apac.com/buyerprotection/ A few instances: You purchased a dress, but it never arrived. You purchased a book, but received a DVD. The listing said new but the item had clearly been used. The listing said batteries included - but they weren't. You bought a beautiful antique lamp - and it arrived in pieces. You purchased a Rolex but received a Faux-Lex. Eligibility requirements are given in this linkL ttps://cms.paypal.com/sg/cgi-bin/marketingweb?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=ua/BuyerProtComp_full&locale.x=en_GB Legal agreements for paypal services are given in English and other languages along with details of countries where this scheme is applicable:--link-- https://cms.paypal.com/al/cgi-bin/marketingweb?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=ua/Legal_Hub_full&locale.x=en_US USA , UK, China, Japan, Taiwan,Australia and other countries are there. I am sure you would have also received an email from paypal regarding this. However please go through the links and make use of it if the scheme is applicable in your country. INDIA -- No No. In India we cannot use paypal for purchases. So myself and our Indian friends cannot use it. But this posting is a matter of knowledge for us and others. Have an excellent day.

Hi That's really sad that we can not use our paypal balance for any kind of purchases. Hope they will enable this function for Indian user too. I really want to purchase many things but unlike before we can not do that anymore.

akp--yes yes. After our getting credits in paypal account we should get the same transferred to our bank account. This was done for big big credits like billions and millions. We receive mostly in double digits. RBI could have exemepted double digiters like this. let us see.

Personally as a Buyer and Seller on Ebay in the past, I feel this is much needed, and a Good thing for sure. They actually should have enforced something like this back in the Boom of Paypal for purchases, etc. but very Glad to know they are enforcing this one now. Since paypal is quickly becoming a highly used item this should be the norm for anything online for sure.

As far as I remember that this buyer's protection was always there in sites. So if you buy from a site like Bazee.com, then that site will give the guarantee rather than Paypal. And that guarantee is available irrespective of the country from most of these sites, so we do not need to worry much on that front. Cheers! Ram

That's great news! At least I won't have to worry about my items coming in pieces, or things that don't come included in the original packaging, thanks!
