Why post a discussion?

Why post a discussion if you are not going to bother commenting back on the comments you receive. Here at mylot we make discussions. The whole point is to discuss the subject not to make a topic and then have people comment and that is it. One thing that really bothers me is when I post a comment and look back into my responded and see that no one has responded to my comment. Do you come across these types of discussions? When you read a discussion and noticed that the creator is not responding back do you still leave your comment?

Nope, Generally I don't. I often look at the persons profile (especially if a newbie) and check out their other discussions.. if they don't answer people back.. I don't waste my time.. as this is my biggest pet peeve..
Some people obviously do not get what myLot is all about.. for one.. it is a DISCUSSION site.. that means discuss.. not ask a questions and "walk away" from your group... that's rude.
Two. If they are here to "earn" money.. they aren't going to get that either. they don't get paid for keeping quiet. You get paid for the content you type here. if you can't be bothered to respond... MyLot can't be bothered to pay you...

Exactly! It just seems like with the turret writers they are more worried about their number going up then their discussions they are writing. And you are right because then they wonder why the heck are they not getting paid. Well I can tell you why! I just hope a couple of the newbies can actually see this discussion so they can see how it is done the right way!

That would be nice if a lot more people would look at it that way. We would have more to talk about and we all can earn more money!

To be absolutely honest with you.. I NEVER even look at that number unless someone brings it up in a discussion.. I have no idea what number I'm on or about to be on or almost at.. It doesn't mean anything.
I'm here to discuss.. and make money.. that number is not going to help me in either.

yes, I come across these types of discussions..! When I receive email notification I go back to the same discussion and comment back if needed. But I find that some people simply start discussions and don't comment back to their discussions...

Yes this is the annoying part. When I comment on a discussion I am interested on what they have to say back. I love posting my opinion and discussing new things, but this is hard to do with someone who does not care what you wrote as long as you are a number in their comment box under their discussions. They are missing the whole point of mylot.

I think a lot here still think that they just earn by posting discussions. Never really realizing that the object is participation.
When somebody else took the time to read your discussion or comment, it would be just right to also take the time to comment back.

Unfortunately once in a while that does tend to happen. I normally don't post to many discussions, because I barely have any time on mylot and come to think of it, it's been a while since I last logged on. Normally I just respond to my friends discussions and comment when they write back to me.
But the few times I have discussed I always make an effort to interact and comment on everyone's response. That is just common courtesy and that is what mylot is all about talking, communicating with each other and discussing various topics. That's what I especially like about it.

yes but lately it seems like it is happening more and more with almost every discussion I seem to answer. I do not know if I am just picking the wrong discussions to try and have a conversation about or what. But today I went through 3 pages of my comments and found that I had no comments in return finally on the fourth page I found one!

I don't know why they do so but I guess if they don't then what will we do. Its a matter of fact that we only get a single +1 rating on our account and that's why we never look back on the responses.
