I want to have a travel to Vietnam very much but now it seems that I have no enough money for my plan, can I just wait for more salary? What will you do if you are in the same situation with me?

If you plan your travels properly, you should see that you don't actually need all that much money. You can get cheap flights and hotels if you book them far enough in advance, and there's no real need to spend all that much money once you're on holiday either. You should concentrate on maybe working online to try and earn a little more money in order to have more for you to be able to spend on your holiday. Have you looked at what your own country has to offer? You might find that there are places you've never seen before which would be very interesting for you to visit. I have been on several cheap holidays in my own country and they can be just as enjoyable as it is to go to another country.

I was going to propose you options like being au pair for one year, looking for a short time job or an scholarship to the country, but those options are not possible, since Vietnam is a poor country and those things are not very popular there. When you go from rich countries to poor countries you are expected to pay for it.

I would reduce my spending and then save a much money as possible. In the meantime I would visit my local library to borrow travel guide books. Then I would get travel knowledge especially accommodation prices and sightseeing ideas. I would book my flight when I got enough to pay for it like 6 months before my departure date. I would save even more looking forward to my trip. By the time my trip came round I would have enough money to pay for an excellent time in Vietnam. I would also get credit card just in case I went slightly over my budget. How much is the airfare to Vietnam I would ask myself. I would find out how much accommodation is there like cheap guest houses. I would investigate how much trains cost in Vietnam. Good luck with saving and then going off on your trip.

Well, traveling is NOT cheap at all! I have been trying to take one vacation per year and that seems to be enough for me. Maybe I will try to save up and take 2 next year (I am going to Ireland and Spain for sure for a wedding next summer!). The only thing you can do is save up. There is no free ride to Vietnam or any country for that matter. You should find good package deals where you can (if you are in the US, sites like Priceline and Expedia can help) and finding a good hostel (instead of hotel) to stay in might be a good idea!

I always try to do my best with the money I have. For me it is discouraging to plan a bigger trip than what I can do and staying at home at the end. I earn about $100 a month online with lots of work so I imagine other people can do it too. That is more than enough for a vacation.

Hi Crise, how are you? Saving is an option. I would suggest if your job allows, try to work as many jobs as possible to earn the amount required for travelling. How much is that amount you may ask? You will have to plan where you want to travel to, how long do you want to travel, where would you be staying, and also add in all the other expenses that may be required for the travelling, like food and entertainment. For some cases, if you really love travelling, you can always save an amount enough for flying to the country of your choice, and also not forgetting meals and shelter. Some countries allow their tourist to work for their own entertainment costs. So you can travel and work at the same time. Though you need to apply for visa to do so as well as no attachments back home that you will be worry about. There is, of course, another way, which is to borrow that money from a bank or a friend or a relative or from family. I have a friend who borrows to travel. And she will usually return the money on a monthly basis through working after she is back from her vacation. Hope you find a way to raise that amount of money for your travelling!

The best thing is save up until you have enough budget to travel like Vietnam. Although it takes time but its worth the wait. Your still young.

I never traveled across india. Within india if I have to journey a short distance comparatively when I have no money I travel in trains without ticket. Its completely illegal. I don't encourage anyone to do that. Neither I travel often without ticket. But I have done so few times.

You can borrow from a friend, or just be patient and you'll be on your way :)
