That´s right but there are always exceptions: I´m not a child but i love sweets too. But adults are not usualy very interested in sweets. However, children love sweets. So... is there any reason?

I think this is because the children have better and sensitive taste than us. They will feel it sweeter than adults. This is why they enjoy eating sweets. They have nothing to be worried about, such as the diet, health and so on. This is why they can have free mind to eat whatever they like. I love China

Yes, a lot of answers say it´s because the children have more sensitive taste than adults... so i think it´s the best reason.

Something sweet - Sweets lover, are you?
I am a child no more and yet I still do love sweets. But it seems that generally children love sweets more than adults. Well maybe because adults know already that it is not good to take too much sweets at their age. They are either already so conscious of their weight or having some health issues that can be aggravated by too much sweets. Nevertheless the sweet tooth in most of us whether we have grown old enough still remains.

In my view, the main reason is that the thought of children is much simpler than that of adults. Adults could find many ways to satisfy their desires. For instance, some people like to buy expensive sports cars or luxuries. Others enjoy staying at five-star hotels to feel the high-quality services. Children could seldom imagine such pictures. To them, sweets are much better than those which they never heard of.

I would rather call it hereditary. Every single person in my family enjoy sweets, the first, second, third or whatever generations I have been in touch with. I therefore cannot support your claim that children like sweets more than adults. Most of my shopping during my holidays abroad is mostly of chocolates!

It's because children are more active, they need a lot of energy to burn and psychologically and physically, most have nothing to avoid or fear. As we age, majority would become the opposite of the things I mentioned

Children don't like sweets more as adults do. In fact you have to learn a small kid to like the taste. Sweets are also asscociated with good behaviour (you can earn it if you behave well). Later on the high level of sugar will make you feel good for a short time (so you have to keep eating it to feel great). If you eat enough fruit you don't feel the need to eat sweets/candies anymore.

I heard that it's because children's taste buds are more sensitive than adults. That's also why children tend to have such a strong aversion to vegetables. They taste the bitterness of them more strongly than an adult would. So when it comes to sweets, the taste is more powerful and they just love it. I think my enjoyment of sweet could rival a child's though :P

I have no idea but I suppose it's becos sweets taste sweet. Children generally prefer sweet stuff rather bitter or sour stuff. I think the reason why most adults don't like sweets is becos they are not gd for teeth.
