Cookies, I love them. Perhaps, a little too much...

I was rummaging through my fridge the other day trying to find something that would dress up my plain sugar cookie dough recipe and I came across the cream cheese. This sparked my creative wheels to turning and led to four hours of baking experiments trying to figure out what I could combine or how I could combine these ingredients to make something delicious. After hours of perfecting my cream cheese sugar cookie, believing I'm a genius for having done so, I flip on the tv to find the recipe on a cooking show. Instead of getting frustrated, I just laugh at myself because at one point or another this seems to happen to everyone. I was wondering what types of encounters with this situation has everyone else had? And it doesn't have to be with just cooking, I mean anything where you have a seemingly creative, innovative idea that someone else has already marketed or mass produced.

hi:) oh that seems delicious, I like cookies too,the smell of newly baked cookies is just heavenly to me. I'm usually creative when it comes to ladies accessories and dresses, I sometimes add some embellishments to my old clothes so that it will look trendy:D

Oh I love the smell of cookies baking. Another thing I found that is really good is putting a little nutella in the middle and sliced almonds, but you have to fold the edges over like a crustata over so nothing melts on to the pan. And that's awesome. I wish I had more time do that stuff. It makes it more unique. :)

Hi, gk655321. Welcome to myLot! I have watched numerous amounts of cooking shows! When I watch these shows, I desire to learn how to prepare and cook like the famous chefs are cooking. When I am at home, it is so much different for me then. I spend too much time in the kitchen! Although the show time is narrowed down and cut in half, I still find it very uncanny for me to follow their lead in cooking. I love cookies, I just baked a batch of them last week. They were very delicious too. I hope that you will enjoy eating your delicious, cream cheese sugar cookie!

I like watching cooking shows too. It always seems so clean on the shows, but when I'm in the kitchen there's flour all over the place or mixing bowls everywhere. And it always seems to take alot longer than it should when you try to duplicate their recipe. Always try to have fun with it though and the more you practice a recipe the faster you get at it I think :)

I love cookies too. And for someone to spend hours perfecting a recipe, you deserve a good home made special variety. And I'm sure its taste is a hundred times better than whatever is shown on TV, or whatever has been mass marketed already. This case is like a couple of small side tables we have at home. I have access to carpentry tools, so I always think that I could buy some materials and make the tables myself to save money. And then you go to ikea, and see that it is even way cheaper if you buy it form them.

I did end up with a few variations that are pretty good. As for the tables it is cheaper and more convenient, but it's not as much fun. I love doing little projects like that. Even if they don't come out just right, being able to make something gives me that sense of self accomplishment.
