it's a 2009 model never used or opened until 2011 is the warranty still good?

I have a 2009 model Vizio 26 class, purchased recently online it's brand new unused not a blemish or scratch, I just started using the set about a week ago, and I'm curious about the sets warranty I'd like to know if the warranty listed in it's instruction guide is still good or not?

Many warranties are based upon the sales receipt and when you register the product.

So it does not matter if the item was purchased online the warranty is still good?

oh i think that would depend on the company... well. but of course, for some the warranty would start when you purchase the item, and send back the warranty card to the company. =)

Can I still send the warranty card if I got the TV online? and does it cost extra to register the device?
