So I finally did the update to 6.0 of Firefox. I deleted my Mypoints tool bar and search box which I use all the time and won't let me get it back. It took away the green status bars from the lower right corner which I used all the time to watch the time for things to load when changing sites/pages and know when they were done. The main tool bar with the address/url bar on it changed and now the back and forward buttons are different and it doesn't show my history of where I've been like it did before and I used that alot to go places I previously was at, but not often enough to make them a bookmark. Why do they have to change things that don't need changing? Now I have to go find everything and reinstall and the MyPoints won't reinstall right. And of course, it doesn't so now I have to wait till My Points gets back to me with their usual text book answer, which won't be what I need and good grief... I wish I hadn't had to update it, but one of the sites I was on said I had to as they didn't work with the version I currently had! Why can't htey just change what they need to and not mess existing things up? If you have any suggestions of how to work FF... pls share! I have been with FF for about 2 years, switching from IE for this exact same reason! Constant updates and always the new version messes up what I have and use and it is so hard and time consuming to get it all back!

I believe Firefox wants to win the browser war that is going on against contenders like Chrome and Opera. Chrome has passed version 10. Opera is now on Release 10.51-1087. Both offer new features and in general improvements over previous releases. Firefox may be worried because they have lost regular users, people like my family and I. We have gone back to Opera, all eight of us. There is no intention of changing our default browser. The others are used only when necessary. We do not hate Firefox but the frustrations of using it ...

I haven't had a bit of trouble with FF until now. I changed from IE about 2 years ago when IE was constantly updating and sites were stopping using IE as browser. I just can't understand why they can change things on my PC that I use...just cause they don't want to accomodate it. THey are costing me money... I get paid for the searches I do and I do alot as I research things and need the infor for my free lance writing.... might as well get paid for my work! If they don't accomodate MyPoints search.. I will change browsers...thats all I got to say! Nobody takes my money without a fight!!!!

Coffebreak, Mozilla Firefox is a good browser. I like Mozilla Firefox better than Internet Explorer. I think when you updated you forgot to set your preferences: You would have to go to your Status bar and check from displayed options those items you which to see appear on your window and to Option in Tools' drop menu to add-on features. My one problem with Firefox is that it tends to block sites with very controversial views, if you fail to prevent such actions.

I have been liking FF....it is just that lately there have been so many updates..and this happens everytime I update! I did the add-on thing...actually the update did it for me...but deleted certain things. I have gone to the tools etc...and to the site to download again..but still...it doesn't "work".

I have also lost several add-ons between FF 3 and FF 4. I have upgraded to 5 with no problem, and I am still hesitating for FF 6. I don't understand why FireFox had 3 major versions -- 4/5/6 -- upgrade in 6 months, when we lived on Firefox 3 during 4 years. I suppose you have to wait for an upgrade of your bar add-on or to downgrade to your previous version if the bar is not available for FireFox 6.

I have not been updating even tho it has been telling me about it for weeks. I hate doing updates as this always happens! I always wait as long as possible. But a site I was on said it wasn't compatiable with the version I was on...4 probably. So I had to. I just don't get why updates trash so much on our pc's. Why don't they leave things alone the version doesn't have anything to do with?
