Have you got an atlas?

I have got an atlas of the world and a few globes. I used to like looking at and reading Thomas Cook's Timetable of the World. It had trains services and timetables worldwide so therefore it was very useful for independent travel. The last one I bought was September to October 2010. Little did I know there was only one more edition then Thomas Cook stopped producing it. I like the Internet site called The Man in Seat 61 and the man details train travel in the world. Have you got an atlas of the world? Do you a street atlas for your local area? Is the Internet a good way to find out about train times?

as an aspiring traveler, I also thought of buying my own atlas and globes for a preparation. :D And, good thing you posted that website and a book, that would help me in the future. I'm somehow daunted about this dream of mine, but I want to it! :D

I hope that you buy an atlas and plan some fantastic journeys for the future. I planned some journeys before it became a reality. Good luck.

When I was a high school student, I got one atlas as I was interested in it when I was learning geography. It is interesting to read atlas as well as a map of the world and a map of our own country. By reading maps and atlas, I have learned a lot about the location of many countries, which broadens my knowledge of geography. Take care, maximax.

Hi Williamjisir. I think that your school atlas taught you much about geography and the world. It is interesting for you to see the map of your home country. I have so many travel books.

Surprisingly, since I work in travel, no I don't own a globe but, I do own many different maps. One of my faves is of the USA which I keep above my desk so I can see it whilst I am in work.

Hi! I have got an atlas when I was still in secondary school, I had it because I need it for my Geography lecture. and ever since then, I never use it anymore. For me, with the advance technology we have now, internet will be the best way to look for places, and it is much faster than the traditional atlas. I do have a street atlas for Singapore, but it was quite outdated because Singapore developed pretty fast.

I know that you have traveled the world in your age of 20. I read that in your some other discussion. I think it will be helpful if one keep the Atlas or the Globes with them. In that way we can relate our current situation so easily. Credit goes to people who have worked hard to create such things. I myself have maps of the cities of my country. I find it interesting to see the places in the map and then it is easy to make your trip.

Hi Sanjay. Yes, I went on my around the world trip at age 20. For such a journey a miniature atlas is very useful. It is great that you have some city maps of your home country.

Hi, maximax. I don't have an atlas at home. I have seen many atlases at school though. This is one main item that I need to have in my home, especially when my kids get a little bit older. I don't have a street atlas for my local area. Out county library may have one of these there though. I think that the Internet is a good way to find out more about train times. I have never rode inside of a train before, but I would think that the Internet would be a great source of finding out the train times.

I do know that my parents had an atlas. They didn't really use it a lot, but they still had one. I've gone through it a couple of times, but that's about it. However, since I'm living on my own and such, I can't say that I have an atlas or a globe or anything like that.

Whenever I travel, I make sure I have a city atlas with me. This way, I don't have to always ask around for directions and other information. Recently, I bought an android smartphone with GPS and navigational apps. It's good to know where we are, where to find places and establishments, and how to go around places.
