My neighbors have two rescue dogs one of them being Rocko. Well Rocko is a curious yellow lab who is somewhat trained to stay in his yard when it behooves him anyway. I've caught him on our block a couple of times. Well last night they let him out and he was no where to be found. I got a knock on my door it was S saying Rocko was missing and she was beside herself. I told her I'd put the posters up at work since I work nearby. And as I was talking to her... her cell rang. Someone had called the humane society and had given S's number to the person. I'm not quite sure how far away he got I'll have to ask. As the road she mentioned there are 2 of them one changes name once it goes past the highway (but it goes thru several manicipalities before it changes names) and then there's a residential street with the same name here as well. I'm glad for her he was found they love those dogs to bits!

Well, if they love those dogs as they claim, they should not let them roam free through the neighborhood. They don't know when a terrible accident may happen. He may be hit by a car, he may hung his head in a fence or he may be stolen. Not to mention that he can destroy somebody else's property or he can eat something bad for his health from some garbage can. This happy ending story must have been a good lesson for your friend and she should not let Rocko roam again.

Awwh this is great news! I often wonder if pets, when they managed to loose their way home if somehow they stay in the area. I wonder if they can recognize something and figure at some point they will be rescued. Thankfully Rocko was found.

Mine can find his way back if he takes off. And the neighbors know who to bring him back. I guess Rocko was busy with the man who found him at an intersection who was a dog lover with several dogs himself. So Rocko had a playdate! *LOL*

Rocko needs mutual love and fun from time to time.

That is great that they were able to find their dog. My Michela, who we had to have put to sleep earlier this year was a wonderer. She got out of the yard here once and decided to take herself for a walk. Well, our neighbors from up and around the corner called down here to let us know that Michela was out. She had actually gotten onto a fairly busy road and was actually headed toward one of the main roads in the city.
