Mylot is for All.but Many Come but few STAY...

community of different people - mylot a universal place

More specifically few chose themselves to stick with mylot even though they have been introduced here already. most people leave, some people stay and some come on/off mylot. I agree that mylot is for every one. It's just that most people from the west used to dominate this place and the old ones prefers a healthy environment of participating on forums that does not involve violent remarks. most specially now that mylot has improved over the years. But with regards to interest and curiosity, not every one is for mylot. most specially people who have jobs and focus more on other things..we can't force it into them, they need to make the choice. Sometimes I feel blessed if mylot only has a few people...but few people but from all over the world rather than tons of friends like facebook and yet one or two people only chats with you in a day. here, the conversations are limitless because people are inclined coz the benefit from their contribution to talk. We are not paid to be silent, so that's what mylot is for. but we also have to behave ourselves for properly making a good talk through post. have a Nice day

Mylot DOES have only a few people from all over the world! There really aren't many people here. Don't let that figure at the bottom of the page mislead you. A look at the "new" discussions page right now will show why people leave. They can't read! They are only here to post links and promote sites - they don't want to follow the guidelines! Luckily there are some who stay and follow the rules. There are healthy numbers of Chinese here, as an example. As someone who is stuck in the middle of East and West - timezone wise, I see them all. They all come in batches - Chinese, Philippians, Indonesians, Indians, Europeans, Americans, etc. You can almost tell the time by who is online! If I had any complaint, it would be that many members post to their own community and not to the international audience. That is true of all nationalities!

Hello petersum, I have seen people who post link sites most specially in countries that doesn't have paypal as merchant. uh.the proper term for the people in the Philippines are Filipinos. I see most Americans, Europeans, Indians and FIlipinos here most of the time. it think it's our night time where most people from the west are online. i hope we get to know is online every day besides the ones seeing in the discussions

I appreciate the diversity here, that is what makes mylot fun. Like you said, if we are all gather in groups, it would work too much like facebook and we can only to familiar friends. It would be much better to have input from people we don't know from time to time, that way we get a fresh view of things. "Many come but few stay..." Well, I like the stayers, and I like to hear from familiar friends too. We sort of "know" these online friends, their lives and habits, it would be good to comment on their topics too.

Yea I agree with that one. I myself am the one who does the "on/off mylot." I have to go to school and do other things like sometimes help my dad out that I do not log in much. Whenever I do have a chance I come to log in sometimes. Its just hard sometimes because when I work, I come home tired that I do not even turn on the computer. Now that I have just been focusing on school, I have been able to log in whenever I come home after finishing my homework.

Yes I know what you mean, I have referrals but it is hard to actually keep them active. I have had a couple who have stayed to 400 posts but then stop being active. I do not know why I became so addicted but can not find someone with my type of loyalty to mylot. That would make me lots. Even the person who referred me is no longer active here, what the heck I want him to log in and see how much money he has been making off me lately! I am interested to know!

Hello Amanda, Only a few people are active in mylot as my referrals. you're lucky that they have stay that long, but unfortunately for me, they didn't stay that long either. I wish that my referrals would come back and start being active again. Have a Nice day.

dear LK, Good observation "many come, but few stays" And it's sad. They come and stays till they reach 500 and then they become inactive. Some survive for months before drifting away. Lately only few comes, I even feel it myself...seems the addiction become less have a good day dear brother

Hello Jai-sis, I want to be addicted but the right way and not to the point of compromising my own health. i decided not to sleep late anymore and its really great knowing that i can be active in mylot for a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the afternoon..but i will do my best not to post in the evening as this is my time to sleep

Maybe people get burned out by trying to reach 500 fast. I confess that after only about an hour on myLot yesterday, I started reading a book and instead of coming to myLot, I finished the book. I think I was burned out and told myself it was OK to rest for a day and only get two more activity points. Today I'm trying to catch up, and maybe I will reach 500 before tonight, but I doubt if I will be able to deal with the rest of my 75 notifications before I go to bed. I plan to remain active, but I will slow down and spend more time on things that earn more money that myLot. And I will not let this remain an addiction. It's, as you say, not healthy, and it keeps me from doing things that should have priority.

The only thing people come here is that this is a PAID site.. maybe because most of them thought that when they start joining mylot, they'll be earning ton of money... but it doesn't work like that, really. Well most of them got a little impatient so they left then some are on and off because they have a job or something that occupies their spare time to use the net and some stay because they have some free time to spare. I think that's about it? Umm... I believe I sounded a little confusing, but I'm actually trying my best to explain XD

Staying and quitting depends on likings and disliking. Some times in comparisons. In personalities. Don’t think even in your wildest dreams, simply because you are staying here for quite some time because you are endowed with super virtues which others lack. It suits you reasons best known to you. That’s why you stick. Or it may be that you are not fit to conform to any standards anywhere in the near vicinity. I for one joined My Lot 5 years ago. I found some sites that cater to my standards of language and content. In my view Blog writing warrants for special skills, where as what you are writing is a Discussion. One line too can make a discussion. Grammar? Don’t worry. Anything goes. This may be the reason for people to stick to some sites. And the same may be the reason for a Blog Buff to quit. With so many ‘Ifs’ and ‘Buts’, how can you judge others?

Hello arle, I guess time management is what make me not so active in the other community that you like the most. but people won't miss me there that's for sure. I am actually admiring those who are universal and helpful in their own way like yourself. I don't want to judge others my friend, i try to avoid doing this lately.

I think many people come here because it is a paid site, and they think they're actually going to get more. When they find out they're making a few dollars a month, they feel it's not worth their time. I know there are people making more than that, but you have to really be posting and good ones too. I like the idea of getting paid, but if they took it away, I would still come to mylot.

Hello marty3888, thats why they are inclined to participate more because it's a paid site. I am making a few dollars for the last two years and only this year when i started saving my money. same here, but i won't be active as i used to be but i will be sharing my thoughts to the people because this is the place where i can be myself too.

same sich here. I have referred a few friends but they get tired of my lot easily. I get tired of mylot often but I always bounce back. I have a regular job and mylotting takes away a lot of my time (like now, I should be working but I'm on my lot for 5 hours a day, sometimes more. I've been like this for a week now. My boss will kill me if he finds out!).

Honestly, I am not focusing on Mylot as the source of income because the quality of my participation is very poor. I just drop by to read some discussion that interest me and to greet and drop by to my friends discussions just like this one. However, I am not the type who leave Mylot when I am just starting. I believe during the time I was a newbie I was very active in this site. It took me a whole year to receive my first payment. What made me comeback are the discussions that interests me and my friends who are still there. and sometimes I became active when I see my earnings and I just need a few dollar to have minimum payment again. Mylot have been there through low times and those people who participated on my discussions about my problems, had really helped me to see the light and to realized that life is like a wheel, sometimes you are up, sometimes you are down, but life doesn't stop for you because you have a big problems. I think Mylot is the way of life too.

Yes, as long i have some time to online, i will surely spend some time in Mylot. It is a site for refreshing our mind and soul...At this moment, i was busy with my daily offline matters and also need to guide my son in his studies. So, i only have a little time for myself. Hope in future, i can spend more time to online... Don't worry, Letran. As long you keep searching and stay positively, i am sure you will find another good source of income...

Yes. There are many here you can talk to, and there are good benefits to talking here. You make new friends. You learn alot of things about news, life, relationships, religion, other countries, work, earning on the internet, just all kinds of neat things that you don't learn on other sites. There is this one forum that I have been to 3 times in the year since I joined. The first time, I went there to try and pick up some pointers kinda like I do here where I learn alot. That forum is unbelievable. You can go on there and ask a question, and you never ever get an answer because someone will come up and say something triply xxx rated to someone else and that gets it started, and they will do 3 pages of that cussin and stuff and you never get an answer to any question. It is crazy. I actually went back my 3rd time a few weeks ago and tried to get an answer to a question. NOT!!!!!!!

I have called some people to this site, but, after a few posts they were gone. I think that they were too busy elsewhere or not very interested in the site. As for me, I'm surprised that I've been here for a year and several months now. The norm for me is to like a site for a while and then the excitement wears off after a few weeks. With MyLot, sure there are days that I don't feel like posting in here, or days that I'm too busy, but, I do come back and post. Sometimes I just read other people's post because I get a glimpse of how they're doing nowadays. I love that I get paid for participating, but, that is just icing to the cake. I love the conversations here and I think I'll be here for quite a while.

Hello gloryacam, If they are too busy else where then there's nothing we can do but to respect their decision not to be active that much longer. i love the conversations myself and it's nice to know that i was able to convince other people to come, even if they don't last. have a nice day.

I also came here for the fact that it is paid site.I spend some time on this site and now i got addicted to it and its discussion section.Yes this is most interesting section for me on this site. Now i dont know about my earnings but i am enjoying taking part in discussions. So everyone has their own interests and not everyone would like stop here.So what?We are doing our own things which makes us happy then why should we worry about how many and which peoples are joining and how many are leaving the site.

Hello LK, Thats true lots of people join MYLOT every day but there are few who continues to be active here but then this is their choice may be they don't find MYLOT to be that good or may be they are too much involved in their offline works that they don't get time to do MYLOTTING.I also find it difficult these days to be active here due to busy schedules but then i always find time to log in to MYLOT at least once in a day. LK i always behave properly and never use fowl language as i can imagine that it hurts deep when someone uses it against you. This is social site and we people should behave as a mature people.

It is disappointing not to have active referrals. I have one referral, but have no idea where he came from -- maybe twitter. He has done nothing yet that I know of. The real life friends I've tried to recruit would not really be in it for the money because, let's face it, you don't really earn much money. On my best days, the I've never made more than a dollar, and the average is about half that. I stay because I enjoy the conversations. I thought these friends, who never go out, might also enjoy this kind of activity, especailly the one who is mostly shut in. She said it sounded up her alley, but then she decided to wait before joining. As you say, you can't make people jump into new things they aren't motivated to do themselves. I think some of us just have more outgoing personalities and we are the same people who might get into conversations with strangers in other places, too, like conventions or parties. Others may come here because they can be totally themselves in conversations and don't have to interact in person, dress up, etc, to talk to people. Just as I can work in my PJ's on my computer, so can I talk to friends at myLot in my PJ's. I think I may have an idea on how to get good referrals who will be active, but it will take more time to try it.

Hello Shanemae, I don't think those consist of this years members, it contains members dating from 2005 onwards and some of them have not come back for a very long time. I think we are active only by the hundreds here, other wise we would get to see new topics every single minute. Take care.
