I have a problem studing , it's boring most of the time. I usually don't have patience for it and it makes me fail sometimes. Sometimes I find some inspiration source in myself and I become motivated and study effectively. The source of inspiration can sometimes be a simple formula that keeps me having fun while study. Do you have any idea how to keep up the motivation and the fun of studing ?

Study can be fun. Sure why not? Of course we do need to have a keen interest in what we study and maybe need to understand too, it is not all easy. I am not loving tests very often but they do let me know where I am lacking and review of material is sometimes been there, done that, yes I do know that but if I can select only the things I am weak in, can sometimes make study more challenging and that can be fun. Like a game, I mean. If study means there is a need to read over material, I like sometimes music for a background to knock out the boring.

I like your advice to look at it like a game. It can make a motivation :-) 7 years after this discussion, I'm still stuck in studies because of being lazy though. :-( Any advice to make it more like a game ? Because I like computer games (or watching a youtube video of someone else playing games)

Not sure. Cause I'm also lazy. Haha. But just thinking that it is for our future might help. And that it will be the greatest gift our parents could give us.

Being lazy is sure fun , but it can delay my dreams and wishes. I always start good as the semester starts but then I lose it because I think I have too much time so I play and stuff... Then I see I rested for too much and I start the get annoyed with the studdies. My parents are not lazy at all. So I probabely got lazy from a mutation in the D.N.A lol.

Not sure. I'm also lazy for being lazy. Haha. But no choice, we have to keep moving or else, nothing will happen in our future.

I often suggest different strategies to my students. For example, I will suggest that they try just sitting down for 10 minutes and studying. At the end of the 10 minutes, they can do whatever they want, but this way they have at least started and it's easier to go back to it. I will also suggest that they write themselves a test and then do it the next day. This forces them to review things twice, once to write the test and once to do it. If they have friends in their class, I get them to do this with a friend and exchange questions, that way they have to do it because their friend is expecting them to do it.

You got a nice idea about exchanging questions with friends. I like it. It also gives some fun. Most of the time it's the first 10 minuts that is hard to start studing. About the 10 minuts trick , I do it usually and I do it with focus. I focus on one or two basic ideas or facts of the material and then I'm getting ready for some more complex material , it gives me some illusion I can understand everything easily.

I also try to relax for 10 minuts if I get sleepy and after the 10 minuts , I do some exersice , playing with my dog. He likes pulling the leash and force me to pull it from him. I also train my brain on simple facts like 1+1=2 asking many questions about it. I can ask "what is the number that decreasing 1 from it leaves 1? the answer is 2. I can also ask "what is the operation needed to do with the numbers 1 and 1 to get 2?" , the answer is "+" My material requires a lot of focus and understanding many things from simple facts. The subject is database management systems.

I have the same problem. If I know my grade in the preliminary part, and I'm sure that I will pass the subject, I won't study the subject anymore. That's what I'm actually doing now. I'm not reading my notes and sometimes, I don't listen to the teacher. I often come to class late. I don't review when we have quizzes. Now, how should we deal with this? In my opinion, we should never force ourselves to do something that we don't want to do. But, since studying is a must, we must try our very best to at least, read the lessons. I grew lazy because of my cellphone. So, in order to have more time for my studies, I don't load my account so as not to be tempted to text people. I don't open my facebook account for a day, so I can spend the time doing other stuffs (not necessarily reading). Its also fun to have group discussions sometimes. Talk about your lessons with your friends. It gets in the head better that way. Because when examination comes, you will remember that you have talked about that with your friends. Have some time to relax. But, not much that you already consume your free time relaxing alone.

Indeed , talking about the subject helps the brain thinking about it in many ways the books doesn't. So , somehow , it helps with solving problems. I think talking about the material here , on mylot can make a big advantages , people will sure respond and add some information. That can be an awsome motivation man !!! :))) That's what i'm goind to do. I will apply mylot on the studdies. muuaaa ha ha haha.

First, you must have a motivation to believe that what is worth doing. I can give you learn not to mock you know more about being able to shame their enemies. as not to put Isaac goals do them so that the registered office will see you easier. successful and enjoyable day!

you said "...their enemies" on the second line. What did you mean ? who are the enemies ? You also said "...Isaac goals..." at the 3rd line . Please , explain yourself. I didn't get your idea. I really lost you after that "registered office" lol . I only understood the first line that I must believe in what i'm doing and I do believe. But laziness is sometimes stronger.

Hi stringer321. I believe you just need to change your ways to study. I love to study a lot. Me too I am bored sometimes. But I change the way. I study with music, I study in other room, I study walking, so on. You can find your own fan way to study. Using internet you can find more ways to study. Just look for making fun your study, to feel good when you study anything. Good luck!

You should make yourself realize that its worth studying and when you study, you'll be able to reach any sorts of goal you wanted to accomplish. It may not be that easy but try and make yourself interested to what you are studying cause its for your future. When you fail, you won't be able to redo that and the time you spent in school will be wasted. Or how bout this, give yourself a treat.. a reward when you get good grades or Brag about it on your parents, they might give you something special.

I always try to look for incentives or motivation for me to strive and work hard to study. I have the habit of pampering myself whenever I get good grades in examinations or high marks in classes. Also, having some inspiration with beautiful and pretty girls in the class can really get me going. Trying to impress them with intellect can really be a sexy way to motivate myself to study.

hello stringer! i too have a problem when it comes to studying.. i always tend to sleep and often procrastinate. it really depends on my mood when to study. What i did to change, is self-discipline. at first it was hard, but later on i was able to adapt to it. i set schedules, reminders for my study. i no longer study on my bed coz this made me sleepy :) i manage my time and when you study, you should focus and condition yourself. free yourself from distractions :)

It's hard for me to buckle down and just study also. I get bored and restless easily! I learned that it's a good idea to study for a little while (maybe 45 minutes or an hour) and then take a little break (such as going for a walk, doing something creative, or playing a game). It's been proven that you retain more information that way and you don't get so fidgety. You don't want to take a long break, though, at the most half an hour, but at least 15 or 20 minutes, and then go right back to studying. This works for me!

Usually, I am just doing two things: 1. Think about my future. 2. Remove every things that may disturb my concentration through study; like games, story books, etc. No.. I don't really think about making my study more fun since several of subjects aren't really fun yet :P. In several cases, by help from God, I can study well and with fun for some annoying subjects. But when I can't get any fun at all, then I will remove everything that may distract my concentration. That is my way :).

Hiii stringer your problem is danger why you not motivate in your study one thing keep in mind once the time is gone never came back again and lost one year means very much time you lost. Create the points according to subject and follow last 5 years paper and for learn the formula write it again and again..

I'm paying for the course I am studying with my own very hard earned money, that and the fact that it is also very interesting is what motivates me to pass the exams.Think about how much money you will have wasted if you don't put the work in and succeed and contemplate what the benefits of passing the course will be and how much trouble you'll be in, in terms of securing a prosperous future, if you fail...
