Today students has no classes, it was suspended because of the typhoon that lambast our country. So my boss did bring his kids at the office, the kids wants to come to the office and play games and do internet surf. This is not the first time that my boss bring his children and baby sit while working too! Anyways, this is his company so he can bring his kids anytime he want. How bout your boss, do they bring their children at work? What are your views regarding this matter?

I think it's unprofessional. But, as you mentioned, it is HIS company and he can do whatever. Anyhow, perhaps there's no one to watch them at home, perhaps they don't feel confident to leave the kids at home so they'd rather bring them to work. Why is there work even if classes were suspended because of the typhoon? Does the typhoon only affect students? hehehe... Anyhow, my boss doesn't do that. They know that it's difficult for people to concentrate when there are children running about - except of course if they are really behaved children. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!!!

Because working people are adult, maybe there will be no office if the place is flooded and cannot pass through. The kids would like to go to the office and play games in the computer. Since my boss spends his time everyday with work, I guess this is the time he spent it with his kids too. They age ranging from 9-11 so they won't be running around the office anymore, they just stay in their computer to play games.

Ah it's good to know that these kids are well-behaved kids, I wouldn't want to work in a company where children would go run around while I'm stressed out with the work-at-hand. Further, I doubt the father had much time to focus about the job when his kids are there with him. Anyhow, perhaps he didn't really do much work since it was a stormy day.

Yes, I remember, earlier also you mentioned about the same that your boss bought his children to office. As you said, the company itself is belongs to him and he is not so particular on official ethics, he could bring them. All depend on with the personal preferences. Normally, in our business culture (where I am working), this is not happening. Only few exceptions are like, company have organised a picnic alongwith the family. In this case, the buses starts from the office premises and I bought my family at office as they had to wait for few hrs. They waited at reception and that is all. But our bosses never get any family people at office and we get chances to mingle with them whenever there is parties and picnics and all.

Our office is very small and we are 4 employee only so it is not strict when it comes to that. Besides that is his company and those were his children. Maybe we (employees) are restricted to bring our children at work, ofcourse, but the admin of this building were we rent brings his son at their office after school hours, they stay near this building and their boss is in the other city. They are only 3 employees in their office.

My boss never bring his children to work before, I find it unprofessional if a boss bring kids to work, where their kids will definitely distract his and others attention when they are playing around the company compound.

My current supervisor is single but I used to have a boss that brings her child at the office but not to babysit, just to show it to her subordinates. It's not a big deal if it was done occasionally but if this will be a norm, then he/she must decide if he would like to work or be a full time parent.

He only brings the kids occasionally, if they are available since we only have office on weekdays. They could stay for a day just by playing computer games.

I think it is purely agains the professionalism. Office is some thing that should have a nice atmosphere and friendly manner but people should understand that office is place to work and not fun.
