http://ca.news.yahoo.com/winnipeg-woman-smashed-babys-head-against-sidewalk-gets-145905534.html I can't believe what I read. Angry when drunk? and she will be set free soon. If she is ever drunk again, no toddler or even small animal is safe!

I have more to say about the law and justice there than of the story itself. Clearly, the woman is a danger to society. It is not only that she drinks: not all drunkards have those reactions. But I think that, whatever the cause, she almost killed a baby. And normal (?) judges will accept that she goes out to do and try to kill someone else when she "blacks out". JEEEZZZ!!!

That woman is no lady! And I´m sure she does plenty of harm when she´s sofer too. The woman should be put in jail and i´d give a time to the judge too.

Seriously, it makes you wonder. How often does someone do something when they have been drinking they would never do when they are not, or does the drinking just bring out the nerve to do what they're really wanting to do anyways? You often wonder about people like this, and when they are given such a light sentence and then released you wonder will it do any good until the next time?

Wow. It's hard to imagine anyone letting her free again at all.

Some drunk people do something out of their consciousness. It can be very dangerous when meeting someone who is drunk. I am wondering why this drunk woman is not kept longer in jail or gets financially for the abuse to the toddler. It does not seem to be fair with the toddler. Take care, LittleMel.

Yes, and where was the father? This sort of thing happens far too often...well, once is too often. This kind of incident shows us a very good reason for people not to drink, especially to excess.

Talk about people who should really be locked up and the key being thrown away. There are a lot of sick people out there but this one, it just baffles me. What were they thinking letting this woman out too soon? If she did this once before, she's liking going to do it again. Especially this is a sign of a dangerous level of drinking as well, so its a double problem. What if this woman gets behind the wheel of a car? Potentially disturbing consequences on so many levels.

Hey there LittleMel long time no see! This is absolutely awful and it is happening more and more these days without the parents being drunk or having mental illness, it is so wrong that she should be out so soon too, so wrong and makes me so angry

Unbelievable on how the law lets things slip by and sadly each time a child is either hurt and or killed. The law today should stop dictating so much nonsense in the wrong areas and start creating laws and policies on how to protect the children in this day and age. Such a shame regardless of the woman's mental condition if any, that a child has to be hurt this way.
