Revenue share is the lowest earner (short term) when you're writing for a living but it's also the easiest - no deadlines, write whatever you want, etc. Long-term the residuals can blow away short-term one-off payments, assuming you keep writing and writing and end up with thousands of articles (and, of course, assuming the site stays live). The best short- and mid-term earnings are from direct sales to client - in other words, freelancing without any kind of middle-man (or site). Between the two, you can earn a nice amount by freelancing through the bidding sites, by applying to offers in job listings or by selling content in a marketplace.

You lost money working for someone? How did you manage that? Or do you mean you lost a lot of time and effort, which is equivalent to money? Pop here real quick: http://scrawlbug.com/2011/09/25/back-to-basics-resources/ (not a referral) That's a list of resources including the revenue shares, direct stuff, marketplace and job listing sites. It's quicker than typing them all in here. If you have any questions, I've used most of them (though not all) - just ask.

In my opinion, you ABSOLUTELY should name them, in case other people get screwed in the same way. Always name the scammers and spammers. Call out the management. Publicise it as much as possible. You did work and didn't get paid: threaten court proceedings.

You are absolutely right spike . I used to write day and night for two sites catering to clients' demand but firstly, those gave me short term earnings as you said and secondly I had problems in getting payments . I lost a lot of money . I stopped working for sometime as I was really frustrated with this online work . Thanks I joined mylot and got so much exposure . Your suggestion is very helpful for me.

As you mentioned, there are a number of online writing sites. I have joined some of them since writing has been my hobby since my college years. One of my favorite sites is "Review Stream". That is a place to write brief reviews on a variety of topocs, and get paid when the review submitted is approved.

I have tried reviewstream too and my first review was accepted and the next i tried submitted was rejected and ever since then i lost interest because even my first review was accepted for performance and got paid $0.50 and other review have always being rejected. I think reviewstream is a great place to write and make a lot of residual income when you understand how to write for them, sometimes the guidelines don't do it so you just need someone who has being writing for them for a long time to give you a heads up.

I write for all the sites that you have mentioned and feel that Triond is the worst of the lot s far as earnings are concerned. In my opinion, the best article writing site online is Factoidz which pays both upfront bonus and also pays for daily views . I have been with Factoidz for more than 2 years and published over 100 articles and now am taking it easy since I get paid every month for views which is quite good...all the best

Have you tried Yahoo Contributor Network? It pays $1.50 for every 1000 views to your article.

It's contributor.yahoo.com and the u.s. Residents can have much more benefit. You'll know that by reading the site's faqs.

Well i am staying in the freelancer for writing works and i am earning decent money in there. But i do not prefer the sites like triond initially, because it requires lot of effort initially. They are so strict nowadays. They are rejected my articles 2 times. In my point of view we should not enter in to these kind of sites initially.
