Autism is Induced

Few years ago after autism suddenly became a pandemic and replaced ADD as the preferred childhood stigma, I became very suspicious, did my own little Mathematics and concluded that most cases of autism were induced. Some people mocked, while some thought I had completely lost it. A study just showed that by manipulating the gene Cntnap2 (responsible for language and speech), autism can be induced - http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn20984-autistic-mice-created--and-treated.html

If it comes to autism, there seems to be soo many different kinds of that most of us probably are autistic. I don't believe in that also I don't believe that it is always bad to be that way or to have a kind of autism. It can save you also from a lot of stress and creative people seem to be frequently one too. It always been there but as soon as we give it a name nearly everyone seems to have it and it's a hot item. The same with ADD. At this moment I hear nearly every teacher say that a kid that is not sitting silent in the classroom has it. I do believe most people don't know what they are talking about and it's better to label someone as to ask yourself why you can't handle someone.

You are right in stating that autism, like ADD, is a stigma. What I found more interesting is the fact that ADD (which used to be the preferred childhood stigma) suddenly was overtaken by autism. While autism is a true medical condition, most are outright stigma by malicious folks who have no idea about dealing with health children: I have seen some very normal children who are simply very inquisitive or very energetic labeled as autistic. True autism is characterized by lack of language and speech skills, and repetitive and compulsory behavior. A child who just chatters endlessly is neither autistic nor sufferer of ADD.
