As you know Steve Jobs passed away yesterday leaving a legacy of innovations behind him. He has been an innovator in three industries. In the technology industry he gave Macs, iPods, iPads and iPhones. In the animation industry, he was the brain behind the Pixar Studios which gave hits such as Toy Story and Monsters Inc. In the music industry, his iTunes revolutionized the way people perceived music stores. What according to you is the greatest of all these achievements of Steve Jobs? That single most game changing innovation? Cheers! Ram

In countries that are not so developed, high-tech products are not accessible to most of the people. That is why iPods, iPads, iPhones or iTunes have very little impact in such countries. As for the Mac - I don't think it's such an important accomplishment. It was very important (and still is) because it gives people a choice. Another operating system besides the monopole of Windows. Since I never had any of the technologies you mentioned, to me, his most important accomplishment is the Pixar Studios, a great source of good animation movies.

It is an interesting point that you make. I think movies have a much farther reach than gadgets. And so Pixar Studios definitely had more visibility. Cheers! Ram

The iPod. It revolutionized the capabilities of modern-day portable music players. I think it was the first to introduce 1,000+ songs in a minute electronic gadget. You can't find that many songs in a Walkman or CD player.

More than anything it started the Apple revolution. It was only after iPod that Apple turned from red to black in the balance sheets. And after that as they say, the rest is history. Cheers! Ram

I would say the iPad. I never got the iPhone because I didn't want that particular service provider. With the iPad, I can use wifi and don't really have to pay that provider money unless I want to. What I like about the iphone that I don't like about the phone I have is that on my android, some of my apps don't work correctly, but they do on the iPad. I bet if I had an iPhone, they would work better too. But it is not worth moving my service for. RIP Steve Jobs

Yes, IPad is another really interesting innovation. At least in the field of Healthcare where I am in, it is proving to be a game-changer. More and more apps are now getting generated on the iPad now. Cheers! Ram
